Hey folks. I've been studying practicing, and performing closeup magic for family and friends for over 35 years.
I did some restaurant work in my 20s. Today I was shown a trick from a magic set by a young teen. It got me thinking about some of the old simple tricks I used to do with everyday objects. I called her to the kitchen and removed a honing steel from my drawer and pretended to sharpen my forefinger. I then plucked a fresh banana from the bunch and feigned slicing it with my forefinger in a back and forth motion. She watched intently as I slowly peeled the banana. And there it was. A banana slices cleanly into segments. Her draw hopped. She examined the peel. She said "it isn't possible". 10 minutes later she was sitting alone ina quiet room staring into space. I said "are you ok?" She said, "the...the banana". |

Nice. She went bananas over that one.
Better reaction than a Richard Sanders video. |

Great suggestion. Thanks for the reminder. I also remember coming across a method for apples, in a small book of pranks in my 4th grade classroom...
