Hello everyone,
I will be travelling to the USA in October/November and will be spending some time in Houston, Austin, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Of course, I don't want to miss out on my great hobby, magic. I've already booked tickets for Penn and Teller and Mac King in Vegas and there are a number of magic shops on my list (so far: Best Magic in LA, Vanishing Inc Magic Shop and the Misdirections Shop in SF, Houston Magic Shop).
Do you have any tips for hidden gems? Small shows, shops or other must-sees? I can imagine that especially the lesser known magicians who play small shows could be interesting. Maybe you have a great tip for someone who enchants people in the queue at a restaurant or puts on a small close-up show in a club.
I'm mainly interested in close-up and good mentalism (which is unfortunately rather rare :-D). But basically, many aspects of magic fascinate me. And if there's a pickpocket show somewhere, I'm there straight away. I'd love to see someone like Apollo Robbins live...

This might be somewhat of a hidden gem but apparently it's expensive but could be worth the price to some.
I haven't heard any talk about this show, not even finding any posts about it on the cafe.

Your trip sounds like great fun. Enjoy!
How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.

SNAFU, I have not, though I used to work with him at a brick and mortar in the 80's. He was a very good magician then. He was also a student of Neil Foster. I can only imagine that he has only improved from those early days.
