I’m intrigued to know what material the balls are made from in the popular Indian street magic two cup routine. They look homemade. Are the spun yarn or perhaps a rough cut rubber material? Anyone know for certain? They can be seen at the 1:35 timestamp in this video clip. I finally figured out the “bowls” are made from traditional electric bell chimes.

Looks like felt balls. Recently a magician friend had made some and I asked about it...he sent me link to youtube video:
