Comparing the catalog descriptions of these two effects by Daryl, they seem extremely similar; their main difference seems to be that in Crossed Thought ten cards are presented (from which one card is selected), whereas in Double Crossed twenty cards are presented (from which two cards are selected).

Might I be correct in assuming that the method and working is similar in both, and that the latter effect simply doubles up on the cards (and gaffs)? Such that if one owns Double Crossed, then one could equally well also perform Crossed Thought simply by using half of the cards and gaffs?

Would this be analogous to the similar relationship between B’Wave and Twisted Sister, insofar as if one owns the latter, then one thereby effectively also owns the former (barring incidental differences like blanks vs jokers)?

In other words: if Twisted Sisters is essentially “B’Wave for two spectators,” then in the same sense would Double Crossed likewise be “Crossed Thought for two spectators”?

I don't own either of these, but I know how they work.

Having watched the demo videos on YouTube, it seems to me that you would NOT be able to use a Double Crossed gaff to perform Crossed Thought exactly as in the latter demo video.
The difference is that you would need t use a mixture of red and black cards, rather than only black cards. This is due to the design of the Double Crossed gaffs.
Some people might think this difference is important; others might not care. When the thought-of card disappears, there is a discrepancy in the packet, which is less obvious perhaps in a small packet if the cards are all of the same colour.
