Hi there ---

I posted this in another section but didn't get much of a response. I'm working on a routine with a series of effects that need to preserve deck order (not necessarily NDO, just DO) with a full deck of cards. Any suggestions folks have would be greatly appreciated.

Kindly,
Brian

Trick or shuffle/mixes?
A full deck story would be an effect.

Hi,

My version of the Chicago Opener – Mind Melting Magician – preserves the order of the cards, it needs to be an opener since you have an extra red card in the deck,

PM me and I'll send you the routine. You can also contact me through my website: www.trickordie.com

IMHO, all of Max's offerings are well worthwhile to get.

Thanks Wravyn! I agree with you Smile

If you are interested in my card magic creations, they're all available for free, and they are pretty good! Just be in touch!

I do an Aronson Stack trick that starts with a false shuffle and some fancy blind cuts.

Have a talon cut from the top and the spectator memorizes the bottom card. Ask them not to cut too many cards at the beginning, maybe 1/3 of the deck or the end can be anticlimactic. This won't much of a problem once you learn to have fun with the crowd but more than half a deck and you may want to cut it short and you'll loose a portion of your stack.

You retain the bottom portion and fan it as you say we won't need these (while glimpsing the top card of the stack). This will tell you the chosen card. Put the left over portion back in the card box.

Ask the Spectator to shuffle the chosen card into the talon and spread the cards in a fan towards them. Tell them you will call for cards you think they are holding but not their chosen card.YET. Asking them to look into your eyes, you call for the cards in the stack to be returned to you in order starting from the top of the stack. If you retain the order as they are returned the stack is maintained and can be added to the rest of the deck after the trick.

After the first few correct, you remark that you are beating the odds. In a while they will think the cards are marked or that you are seeing a reflection in their glasses. Let them hide the back of the cards, take off glasses, pass the fan from person to person etc... Have fun with "a strong" reaction to seeing an Ace, hope they don't play poker, have trouble deciding if it's a spade or club and such, tell them they have 2 spot cards and a face card, that sort of thing. You will end with the Chosen Card.
It's not high art but if done right it's a great trick for wide involvement when a few too many people want to watch Close-Up... and it will keep your stack for other tricks.
