I just bought a set of the cartoon silks from my local magic shop. They look great, and I'm looking forward to writing a routine for them.
The silks come with a routine of producing the silks from a change bag or dove pan. I like that OK, but I was wondering if anyone else has these and does a different routine with them? I was thinking of turning into a game where I guess which circus card they pick from a stack of different circus animal cards. Maybe a mental/charades routine. Any ideas? |

At WalMart you can get some very brightly colored and very opaque envelopes. Put a different silk into each envelope and have audience volunteers (4 if that is what your set has) come up and choose an envelope. Then do a comedy mind reading act where you describe the secret ambition of person who selected that envelope. Open the envelope and show the humorous match.
(You know what is in each envelope by color. You just have to wait until you can match it with a person.) Bob Magic By Sander |

Here's one thread on the subject: Headless Cartoon Silks by Laflin. It's in the little darlings area of the Café. - Donald. Posted: Jul 26, 2004 8:18am -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BTW, Duane Laflin has also published at least one routine (possibly more) for these silks in his monthly newsletter / magazine, titled "Happy Magic". You can order a subscription through their website. I saw at least one routine in "Happy Magic" when he first released the silks. If you want the specific back issue with routines in it, you could call their office and try to ask if you can buy a relevant back issue, the one with routines for those silks. - Donald.
