Greetings from The Black Hart

I was recently contacted by master craftsman Chris Fairbrass, who by trade is a Luthier of Guitars. Chris send me his new invention for my appraisal, The Lost Chair. I was blown away by the craftsmanship. So much so that I recorded a review for my YouTube channel. Let me make it clear that I have no financial connection to The Lost Chair and gain nothing financially from any sales, I did this because I was so impressed with the product. At the moment The Lost Chair is not available from any magic dealer. If you are interested in purchasing one you can contact Chris direct at: chris@chrisfairbrass.co.uk

I can not recommend The Lost Chair enough. You can see my review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eC9Dqp0_tTA&t=11s

Yours in Darkness

Impressive review and impressive looking prop. Looks like I need to drop Chris a line. Thanks Black Hart!

I love the idea but would like to see a more intentional looking fall/movement. To many it could seem like it was balanced so precariously that it fell all on its own...

I understand what you're saying saturnkk, but for me, this classic prop and premise works best when derived out of subtlety. Did it fall due to an outside force, or just by gravity? It's all in the storytelling.

I messaged the creator after seeing Black Hart's review. Mine is on the way! Can't wait to see this in person.

Received mine in the post today. Exquisite! The heft and feel of the pieces are impressive and they are no doubt parts of an old rocking chair. The routine supplied is interesting and give justification for having parts of an old wooden chair. I plan to play with this awhile and see what ideas/routines come to mind.
I highly recommend this.

I'm about to pull the trigger but I'm not sure it fits with anything I'm currently doing. Smile

I'm with you Slim King. I don't have any immediate plans for this piece either but wanted to secure a set while they are available. I plan to live with this for a while and no doubt inspiration will strike.

@Black Hart - commented on your video, too.

Do you check messages here often?

I've ordered this prop and believe it might be worth a rewrite of my material. Would love to discuss.

Received mine today. Absolutely stunning and will fit beautifully into a routine I'm currently putting together. As mentioned by Dr O the heft and feel is just right and it's completely bombproof. I own an original Haunted Timber which is nice but this is far more convincing and easier to build a story around. You can easily set it up to not topple at all, reset it in 10 seconds and play around with timings. I set it up and sat back and was convinced it was just too stable to topple and that I must have set it up wrong and then clonk! I actually jumped.

I came home from a brief Halloween trip and found mine waiting.

Today I got to play with it.

This looks amazing and operates so smoothly! I didn't think it was even working, and looked back to check the instructions and it fell, startling ME!

Beautiful job Chris!
Thank You.

I received mine about a week ago, and apologies for not posting a review.

This item rocks (pun sad-fully intended). It looks and feels entirely believable, and the workings are spot on. It's quite stunning on every level, and I feel lucky to have this in my collection. I only wish there were some kind of diagram to explain the workings. I just worry with the item aging, and passing on a legacy prop from one owner to another, there may be a need to adjust, tweak, or refill (?) the workings. Right now its operations are a complete mystery and I feel that's an oversight on Chris's part.

Thank you for bringing up that point - until now I have not thought about that...
But then again I have never thought about the workings of "Bone of the Elders" either - should I check if it is still working (which I haven't done in quite a while)...?
