Hello friends,
I wrote my first short 'book' about using mentalism or readings as a shamanic method. Although I do go over my ideas of giving propless readings, It's not a book of routines or tricks, but more about a perspective. Drawing from my personal experiences, including time spent living with a shaman in Peru and witnessing the power of his leaf readings, I share ideas for enhancing intuition, crafting meaningful symbols, and guiding participants into transformative states. The heart of this is a simple yet powerful: “Focus on providing symbols, not answers,” allowing each reading to resonate deeply and uniquely. For those ready to dive further, the book introduces the concept of PsychoMagic, inspired by Alejandro Jodorowsky’s therapeutic rituals. Though dramatic for the average mentalists or reader, this practice offers a way to incorporate transformative, real-world impact into their sessions, turning readings into something that I believe can be carried with them for life. I'm not going to claim there's anything revolutionary in my words, but I think for those of you that are interested in 'the real thing', you will enjoy this quick read and take something from out. Just read it... Highly recommended for seasoned veterans of the art form. Thirteen Steps assures us that Readings are the ultimate goal of a Mentalist. I agree.

Each part of the Gods is deeply meaningful and intentional, not to mention Sanskrit in general is basically a philosophical codes. I live in Mexico and lived in Peru for 2 years. Readings are very normal and a part of the indigenous traditions. I work with a nonprofit foundation that works on preserving and saving endangered indigenous traditions, this has given me a lot of opportunity to spend time with interesting tribal 'elders' and mystics. As a way to fundraise, we organize tours that take foreigners to these communities to experience their culture directly and see the impact of where their money goes. As I mentioned briefly in the book, I lived with a Q'ero Shaman in Urubamba outside Cusco for around 3 or 4 months. He would give our guests coca leaf readings - and I watched him do these week after week. Because I have a background interest in mentalism, I took a keen eye to pay attention to his cold reads or intuitive lines he would feed the people. I spent a very long time living with the Shipibos - and particularly this shaman Justina Cerrano and her family. She would give shamanic surgeries where she would diagnosis different pains people had in their body and then perform a ritual where she sucks it out of them. It then pops through their skin and materializes into some sort of object that is burned. Typically a thorn, animal bone, insect etc. I was recently in Ethiopia and I was with the Hamer tribe and they were doing 'sandal readings' - I filmed it, it was really interesting. Literally tossing their flip flops (made from recycled car tires) and reading the way it falls to divine why the patient was feeling ill. The conclusion was he had an ancestral ghost angry with him - so he has to throw some milk in a specific direction and some other odd directions to get it to go away. So in some way, I've been surrounded by various types of shamanic methods that influenced my interpretation of readings that I'm just now beginning to piece together in a coherent way, which inspired me to write 'The Shape of Silence' book above. When I was younger, before my shamanic interests, I was into Derren Brown and this influenced me heavily in the way that I perceive the world. So when I began meeting these types of Sadhus in India and Shamans of the Americas - I watched them as if I was watching a magician. This is a topic I could go on and on about. I've followed a similar path having spent much time in Brazil and Peru the last 20 years researching shamanic traditions and having completed a doctorate in the philosophical connections between Indo-Tibetan Buddhism and these south American traditions.
