Thanks dynamiteassasin! I`ve been doing research on the Café forum, about Greg`s ON THE SPOT & and it comes up often as very good material. Haven`t seen any negatives about it. Sounds like my kind of stuff which has been mostly any kind of killer tricks, gimmicked or non-gimmicked, but prefer impromptu. I`ll be looking for the video (at a discount of course).

Try http://www.magicauction.com or http://www.ebay.com for low prices. It's a wise and practical idea to buy 2nd hand videos.

For those who understand its power, the Fading Coin is the most powerful effect you can do. In essence, the spectator chooses a coin through imagination and it is materialized in your hand.

Where can the "fading coin" be learned?

Favorite impromptu coin effects.
I've had good results with: >Hanging Coins - using quarters. Halves don't seem so impromptu. >Coin in pen cap - if a pen is available. >I also like several variations of coins across and thru the table. >"Pretend" Bobo - I do a variation of this. >"Gadabout Coins" Bobo - is good and can be used for more items than just coins. Thas' it! |

For impromptu with coins in modern circulation...Gregory Wilson owns the turf, he has excellent ideas.
3/4 Across - Coins across 11 Cent Trick - Copper to Silver transpo 99 cent trick - Multiple vanish sequence with a kicker Quicksilver - Quarter to eye, shoulder, from the air and under watch....what's not to like? ">"Gadabout Coins" Bobo - is good and can be used for more items than just coins. " That's because it's really just a sponge ball routine with coins and a click pass as a convincer. Think about it. (IE two in the hand...one in the pocket)

I have this tiny routine with a coin
Its based on Ellusionist Material (don't shoot me). While talking about magic I usually ready a con in position for Georges old quarter trick ( a nice coin appearance trick)..then I'll roll the coin on my knuckles. As I postion my hands for revolution I'll roll the coinon my knuckles again but this time my wrist is rotated so that my palm faces my body and the coin falls from knuckle to knuckle. Then I revolution the coin. Its short, Direct and shocking.! MACGYVER |

All I know is it was created by an Oriental gentleman and was published in a back issue of MUM (I'm pretty sure, but please say something if I'm wrong). I learned it a while back from Eugene Burger. He speaks very highly of it. Sorry I can't help any more than that. -Christian

Coin Under Watch
I originally learned it from a Mark Sischer video. Gregory Wilson also has some good work on this on one of his videos. |

I like performing Gregory Wilson's 3/4 Coin Across from On The Spot and his Questionable Trick. I also like Kevin Parker's Revolution.

Another vote for the 11 cent trick on Greg Wilson's On the Spot. It is hard to beat a trick that takes place in a spec's hand.

BOBO's Bluff vanish was doing it before I read it there so that was good to put a name to it but I was able to stump Ammar, Daryl and David Stone for a little while anyway and yes I did reveal it to them pm me if interested in the working please 50 posts or more.

If you have purchased Sankey's Revolutionary Coin Magic, there's a ton of awesome stuff. Mr. Clean Coins Across, Coins Through Table, some stuff with the Goshman Pinch (I even tericked one of my friends just doing a simple vanish and reappearance).....there's so much stuff on that one video.

Muscle pass is good. Mr cleans is good, but takes practice. Sankey's stuff is pretty tough ^^

My favorite impromptu coin effect is flying eagles. As long as I have a coin on me, and can borrow the rest from a spectator, I'm ready to perform. There are lots of versions of this effect. My favorite is on the "In the trenches" DVD.

I really like Jay Sankey's Messiah vanish. It usually gets great reactions. The only bad thing is that it can only be done for a small group of people directly in front of you.

I just shortened the coins across with the surprise ending that's on one of his "Coin Miracles" DVDs. I simply have a person hold their hands out together, I roll a coin, do a vanish and then the coin drops into their hand. So it appeared in mid-air(gasp). For such a simple effect that can be set up within a few seconds and only requires 2 coins that are the same, it gets hilarious reactions. 100% of the time the spectators look straight up in the air and stare.
