I downloaded it, too.
It is perfect for TV. Never use it.

It's far to impractical to perform.

I do not often use it but when I do I find it is gets really good reactions! When I watched the video I was like that never going to fool anyone but it is not to hard and not too expensive.
If I knew how it was done I would have only purchased this for a lower price - £8 mark |

I saw the demo for "Melt" The only thing it reminded me of was "Fickle Nickel". I decided to pass on that one.

I think its not practical in most situations other than one on one.
If people were to be curious and tilt their heads a little, that's gonna be bad. Too angly. |

I have it , and never used it for the same reasons posted. I appreciate the idea though. I think this was based on a very old method. I remember seing Sigfried do it a long time ago.

Rannie,
Are you talking about the SARMOTI TV special? I think he was doing the Cornelius vanishing nickle...but with a half. |

I remember it vaguely , but it is quite similar. It uses the same method. The handling of melt is different though.

Aside from the use of the (secret something) the method and setup is quite different. The vanishing nickle is a great effect and any Melt owner that doesn't know it would really appreciate it!

I was roaming through expert magic and was planning on buying this. It was really found in the library? I find that funny. also, why is it so impractical? which coin vanish should I look towards?

I agree with JJP161 on this one. Go but the Raven or REVOLUTION. Revolution is excellent but obvious. Melt is not that good. I bought it and right away I wanted to sell it on Ebay. Of course this simple effect just HAD to use IT, and **x. It gets annoying when people move there heads and see it there. That has happened to me many many times, even for little kids. Go buy revolution. http://www.ellusionist.com
Its all in your mind, not a gimmick, sleight,or move.

Someone mentioned that they found a variation of melt in the library, what book was that in? I just bought revolution, and now melt looks even cooler on the demo, but everyone here says that it is junk. so I would like to know what book it was in so that I could see the handling of a good illusion, not the stuff they sell for 25 bucks a pop, on the net

Your library may not carry *Modern Coin Manipulation* by Downs, but http://www.lybrary.com does. MELT's effect is in there.
