This is an excellent old trick which I had many years ago.
And was wondering if this was still available. Approximately 6 cards are shown. These cards have drilled holes through the top and bottom of the cards. In short ... the freely selected card when placed upon a wooden stick "rotates" to reveal itself. I remember how this effect works, but wondered if it is still available to purchase? regards, WulfieSmith |

I haven’t seen the version that uses only a handful of cards, but I assume it’s based on the full-deck version of the principle. The full-deck effect was the trick that got me into magic 35 years ago. It was sold by Haines House of Cards in Norwood, OH, under the name Flip Deck. While this may not directly answer your question, I thought you might find some historical background interesting.
From The Linking Ring, Vol. 47, Issue 11 (November 1967), p. 71: "Flip was first introduced by Percy Abbott many years ago. Due to the number of requests for this effect, John Snyder, Jr. obtained the rights to manufacture it and copyrighted the instructions." In the 1947 issue of The Linking Ring, a full-page announcement states that Ronald Haines had recently purchased John Snyder, Jr.'s business after Snyder's passing. When I discovered the effect in my Grandparents' drawer circa 1990, it was a Haines Fox Lake deck. Do you recall if the version you originally owned was a marketed item or a write up in a book, periodical, etc.? T.J. |

I had this. It used a chopstick to hang the packet of cards from, and the selected card would rotate up. I wasn't the showman to make it impressive, and I don't have it anymore.
