I have read the previous posts and I'm unconvinced if this book test is a good one for casual impromptu performances? Does the book really look authentic or more like a magic prop? Do the number and symbol tests really play very directly and convincingly or is the secret pretty obvious to spectators? The other two tests don't look very direct so these are the only ones that I'm interested in...Thanks for your help.

I think it depends on what you mean by "casual and impromptu." The booklet looks good enough that it could really pass for what it purports to be; the question is, could you convincingly pull off the idea that you "just happen" to be carrying around a booklet designed for clinical ESP research? Personally I couldn't, so I reserve mine for walkaround and parlor settings, where it's more plausible that I, as "the mindreader guy," would have such a thing.

That said, I love the thing. The revelations all work very well and are completely deceptive. While some are more direct than others, the extra steps can be made to make sense within the context of the presentation.

One possible downside, depending on where you live and who you perform for: One of the revelations requires your spectator to have some knowledge of UK currency in order to work. This was enough of a problem for me that I went to the trouble to construct my own "Americanized" version of the book to eliminate this problem. But the effect is good enough that it was worth the effort.
Every problem contains the seeds of its own solution. Unfortunately every problem also contains the seeds of an infinite number of non-solutions, so that first part really isn't super helpful.

That's strange. there is no mention of anything involving UK currency. can you explain how this particular test plays out? is that the one that asks them to remember a two or three digit number?

No, it doesn't effect the number revelation. It comes into play when the spec looks at the word on the page they open to, then chooses a word from the list on the back that relates to it. Some of these words have to do with UK currency, and if the spec has never dealt with it, they might not make the connection between the word on the page and the word in the list. This doesn't happen all or even most of the time, but often enough that it's worth taking into consideration.

Hi gang. I am a little late to this. I have just got the BIP book. Is there a plan to do a USA version as the Britsh currency part does not play here?

Hi,

We are nearly due for a reprint. We will be making some changes including the £50 pound note. We hope B.I.P II will be out early next year.

Best Regards

Peter
