I was thinking about getting this effect to enhance various other effects I would be doing. Is it worth the price tag? What about size, ease of operation, and how long will it last me? Thanks.

Very easy to use once you get accustomed to the trigger. Actually called Flash Burst and has been discussed quite a bit recently.
