Just think - then don't buy it.

But as I stated before, I "just thought" and came up with a way to make it work consistently. |

So "Just think" of card spliting and peel off inside of the cardbox, and that will make the surface thinner to make it work. you'll have to break the joint of the bardbox and reglue it after you're done with thinning out the card box.
I am surprised most members have lambased this effect. its a good idea. you'll just have to work your way around to make it work more than 99% . :kewl: |

I was able to do it without taking the box apart. Just carefully peel the inside layer down.

Why shold I have to pay for an item and then rework it to make it do what it was supposed to do when I bought it? Tell me on the box - "This is half baked and not finished and will not work as it is. Buy it at this reduced price and redo it so it will work." Then, reduce the price to half what it is listed for and I won't feel cheated once I get it home.

I agree that it *should* work perfectly out of the box.
However, this effect is worth the extra effort. Rather than simply give up on what I felt was an awesome idea, I decided to try to make it work. And I am glad I did. This was previously something I was disappointed with, but now it is one of my favorite effects. I wasn't able to get Maven's idea to work %100 of the time either. But combining these two ideas really works. I've had to rework other effects too. I occasionally go to Staples or Office Max for extra items to improve effects that I feel are worth it. In a perfect world, I wouldn't have to do that, but unfortunately it is necesary at times. |

I purchased Just think a couple years back, reworked it so it works, but the problem is this: WHY does the spectator need to write on the card box? Not logical, ESPECIALLY if there is a table handy. "Don't use the table! Use the card case instead!!" (spectator thinks "Huh?" "What gives?")
And if they have their own mind and refuse to use the card box as a writing surface, and instead use another handy surface, you are screwed, because by INSISTING that they use the card box, you are giving away the method, in a sense. In short, this has a glaring logic flaw in it. Besides as I recall, the add for the effect is misleading. I'll have to look it up and see.

I put a post-it-note on the box. Since the post-it-note is already on the box, they usually won't remove it and use another surface. In fact, that has not happened since I've been using this method.
I instruct the spec to hold the box up, facing me so there is no chance for me to see what they are writing. I then tell them to hold the box (with the note still attached to it) in their hands and look into my eyes. This allows me to sense the essence of the card.......This connection will allow me to pull the card out of the deck. The spec is then instructed to remove the post it note and crumple or fold it as I remove their card from the box. |

Wow! It seems like "Just Think" is a candidate for "worst trick". I wonder how it would do in a head-to-head competition against "Braco's Floating Ball" in this category?

Braco's Floating Ball is definitely the worst trick (and biggest rip off) of the decade. For Just Think at least you get a gimmick and cheap price. For the Floating Ball......you get nothing but but a few pieces of toilet paper...for $50!

From what I've read, there isn't much you can do with Braco's Floating Ball.
At least you can make Just Think work. |

When I first got it, I did everything to get it work, including thinning the card box, using a short pencil, and adding jokers to the deck. No luck. I still consider it a quality control issue.

Glue Just Think to Braco's Ball, and just let them both float into space.....

I compare Braco's ball to another thing in another categorie: movies. Braco's ball is at about the same level as "The Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes." It stinks just that bad. BTW, you got toilet paper? I recall getting a shiny "silver" balloon. That was supposed to pass for the "ball" Why did they lie? Why didn't they just come out and call it "Braco's floating balloon that is supposed to pass for a ball"

If you want to know how to do the effect and some other really neat stuff, get Max Mvens parlour maentalism dvd. it teaches the method and some other cool ideas, don't go for this crap, max mavens is soo much better, workable and cheaper to make
