Hey all, hoping someone can help me remember the name of a book or notes on ACAAN from a few years ago. I’ve been out of magic for a few years and trying to track down a specific book I used to own. I believe it was a smaller book or lecture notes with maybe only that one effect. I can’t remember the author but know that it wasn’t the Berglas Effect or Alain Nu’s Any Card.
It was stack based, true any card at any number. Card is named, then the number, some head math, then the adjustment to the stack as you take the cards out of the box. I know that’s vague and probably describes several versions but this would have been popular around 2004-2008. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

If a small booklet style, it sounds like John Born’s Flip Shift.

I would rather think it is John Born's excellent book "Meant to be"... Jan

Oh wow thanks. That’s not the one I’m thinking of but appreciate it. I wasn’t familiar with John Born but looks worth looking into and definitely a similar method.

I got both books, but „Meant to be“ (at least!) you should try to get! Jan

Asi Wind had a small booklet with DVD, called Chapter One, pretty similar to John Born's or vice versa.

The meant to be book for me opened my eyes to all the different ways that magicians have worked out acaan I noticed that most used a stack so I learned the aronson stack. But John Bornes system was very complicated with the math used and the way you dumped the cards.then in the book I noticed two shakes by Alan Ackermans he reversed the stack so it only required addition of the card and number chosen. I changed how I removed the cards and on the 10th,20th,30th ,40th card in the stack I marked on the top right edge I placed a small mark, which allowed me with a quick glance a way to estimate an easy way to cut at the needed number as you remove the cards from the deck.
