I have long considered purchasing this book, finally took the hit and did it.

First, it is written by the cafe's own Mindpro (he doesn't like using his real name) who is an entertainment agent, Mentalist, and consultant. Full disclosure I have known him a while, but I did pay for this book so the bias should be on the lower side.

What is it?

An ebook, about 28 pages, so short. It aims to "educate" you on how services like Gigmasters (thebash), Gigsalad, and the like operate so you can maximize your use of them.

As you can probably tell from the title, it is on the older side, 2016 I think. But these services operate sort of the same as back then.

What do you get?

I was asked not to talk much about the contents, luckily, there isn't very much content. I will mention some things not in it though.

It talks very little about setting up your promo kit, such as photos, key word optimization or anything like that. So you will have to look elsewhere for that stuff.

It also doesn't talk much about anything besides Gigmasters (now the bash). But most of the information is general enough to be used with any service or really any incoming leads.

The author spent a long while emphasizing the importance of responding first. Problem is that very thing is emphasized in every email I get from Gigsalad.

There are a few novel ideas that I won't share, probably won't use them but good ideas nonetheless.

Should you get it?

That depends, if you are already having success with these services I doubt you will see much revolutionary thought. But if you are new to these services and have little knowledge of them, this would be a great place to start. There's also info on responding to leads that everyone should know.

This was originally written for his coaching students and it shows, frequently mentioning things not in the book. Such as a reference to "see sales performances" something you would likely have no idea what is if you didn't already listen to the author. It is never defined in the book.

Conclusion: all that being said, much of the things I read I had heard from the author before, that says more about me then the book. It's one of the smarter magician business books I have read. I'll give it 4 out of 5. It is just too limited to give higher.

How do I get it?

That's where things are tricky, you can only get it straight from the author Mindpro. There's a reference form you need to submit to buy his stuff. So my best tip is to ask nicely. It was about $25.

Would you say the book is geared towards how to grow an already operating magic business using Gigmasters/the bash? How to grow one from the ground up? Either/or?

Trying to get a sense if this is a good "zero to one" kind of resource, or more of a "one to two" kind of a thing.

I'm sure Fedora may chime in which would be great, but I will also address this from my perspective as the author.

I created this ebook because of the many misperceptions and misinformation with regards to these services (Gigmasters/The Bash, GigSalad, PartyPop, ATF, etc.) to explain what they are, what they are not, and the way to get the best results from them. So much information about these service is wrong in the community that I just wanted to set this straight. also I had privieged behind-the-scenes info and access that most don't.

I created this ebook for BOTH the newbie just starting out as well as those that have current memberships, or those that claim that they tried these services and got minimal results. It is important to understand the "whys" behind all of these from a factual perspective. Most that have not had much success is because of themselves and the way they approached and utilized these services, not because of the services themselves.

This ebook does exactly that. While I appreciate Fedoras review of this I must say it is very different from the hundreds of emails and feedback I've received from this. Also from the feedback to the ebook here on the Cafe (here is just one thread where this is addressed - it is also a very good thread for beginners as well as more experienced performers) - https://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/view......start=40

Most have found this ebook very insightful and come away with a much better understanding of expectation, what works, and what doesn't and why. Most praise the education from this and the amount of content within the pages, whereas Fedora seems not to have much himself. Perhaps he was looking for something else as he mentioned keywords, promo photos, promo kit, and related optimization. It was never intended to have anything to do with these. These services have excellent SEO and optimization without me needing to address these things. Actually many will tell you the SEO and optimization is one of the initial benefits to these services, especially Gigmasters/The Bash and GigSalad.

One page that covers behind-the-scenes insight is the top thing most people have referenced and talked about and was the biggest eye-opening takeaway. Many state that this single page alone was worth more than the price of the book. It is a real eye-opener for sure.

Yes it was originally written in 2016 but has been regularly updated as needed. Truth be told not much has changed as far as the purpose and use of these services and the related information I have provided. Again it is to better understand these services and to maximize the use of them.

Fedora said that the info I provided is the same as the emails he revives from these services. First, this isn't true as to the details, reasons, depth, and the "whys" as I mentioned. Also as I state in the book two of these services actually contacted me to use my content to promote to their members to help them to succeed. Everything mention is NOT just about Gigmasters/The Bash as it applies to each of these types of services. Gigmasters was just the top service of its type and as I explain in the beginning of the book I use the term Gigmasters because of it being the most popular but I make it clear it a general reference and that it applies to all of these services.

Many people that try or use these services have trouble understanding why many of the same performers seem to get many of the gigs. This ebook explains this and exactly why. More so, what to do to prevent his and to position yourself as one of these regular recipients of the bookings. There are many insights not commonly discussed about these services. It is not because they are better, more experienced, have lower/better prices, or many of the other reasons and justifications that many seem to make. This is addressed and corrected separating fact from misinformation and common misperception.

In reality there is much more content than Fedora seemed to realize, and much more value than he seemed to have taken from this himself.

There are some "novel ideas" that Fedora mentioned that I think have much more value than he realized. One of these alone has caused people to earn an extra $10,000 or more each year and is in my opinion (and from others I have heard from) is brilliant.

I realize his review concludes with "it's one of the smarter magician business books I have read" ands gives it a 4 out of 5 stars which I appreciate but just feel these is much more value and benefit to this (and not just for magicians but most other types of performers as well) not just about these services but in operating an entertainment business in general.

Hey UX, sorry it took me a moment to notice your question, I don't usually look in this part of the cafe.

We have Mindpro himself already addressing some of your concerns.

I will contridict him here though and say it will be more helpful to someone not familiar with these services than for someone around for a minute.

Quite a bit I think a reasonably intelligent person could think of on their own. So not me but probably you UX.

To address the author, the reason why I would consider things like the promo kit or SEO as important is because it effects your ranking on these services. And because without an effective promo kit they will have little reason to contact you directly.

Nonetheless, it isn't a particularly large investment UX, might be worth the investment for you if you are looking into these services.

Wow, thanks for the thoughtful post, Mindpro. Definitely sounds like something I'd be interested in taking a look at. How would I go about acquiring a copy?

And Fedora, I appreciate your thoughts and review as well. Since I am a newbie to these kinds of sits, I think it's worth looking at further, at least for me.
