OK! A slightly different progress report today. I'd mentioned that she passed out and fell out of bed a few weeks ago. One of the problems was that she landed on her thumb and bruised it significantly. (This was worrying to me, as circulation is very trick among diabetics. That's why she lost the toe.) She hadn't been able to handle the controller for her X-box for some time. I came home tonight to find her, in her wheelchair, playing "Red Dead Redemption II" on the console! She mentioned that the thumb was still sore, but she could handle the controller with it.

We take our victories where we can, and I'm happy for her that she made this achievement!

Yes, celebrate every little victory.
Hope she has a lot of fun with the games! Smile

You should join her if you aren't already. Smile

I'm still in the "story mode" of "Red Dead Redemption II," and I hadn't been able to focus on playing it while she was recovering. I might get back into it now. (I'm also playing "Fallout '76," and "Balder's Gate 3," but I haven't been focusing on video games for awhile.

Ed, I'm also a Fallout 76 player, but I've been stuck in the hospital for a week (flu, pneumonia, RSV), so I have a lot of catching up to do when I get home. Smile

When you are on, look for "smithart".

If I get back on, I will look for you sir. I really should head back to the civilized part of the world and help the lady in the diner with her bully problem.

The one I always put off is the crazy robot lady at the top of the ski lift. Smile

I think I'm in the middle of that one. I have to steal from some super mutants. She can wait.

New report. She's been taking bed baths, they got her a "shower chair," and want her using it. She's been avoiding it, but she's going to do it today.

And now, she's over her fear of the chair, and loves taking showers again!

Yes, when possible, there is a real sense of renewal after a good shower. It is important to keep a large, warm towel available for afterward in chair situations.

Glad it's good news, Ed.

I think you guys deserve to hear any good news I have, as you've been patient enough to sit through all the bad stuff that happened. So, on Saturday, I got up and she wasn't in the bed. I assumed she was in the bathroom, but she wasn't (which was good, because I needed it!) so I come out of the bathroom, and the dog is in the living room. I go to see what SHE'S up to, and there's Dotti, not only sitting in her chair, but munching away at a salad. She HAD in fact, used the bathroom, and in coming out, decided to; a) make a salad, and b) carry said salad through the hall to the living room! This was several levels of awesome!

Today (Tuesday) she was supposed to have physical therapy, the therapist called, apologizing for being late and said she wasn't feeling good. They (my wife AND my daughter) told her; you're not feeling good, you should go home! Part of this was concern for her health, but there was also the concern that SHE might be contagious, and my wife is already prone to infections! We didn't need to have to worry about THAT after getting this far!
