Getting a shuffled deck into stack sequence via grok slot machine video

This thread is specifically about getting a shuffled deck into Mnemonica sequence, but the process could be used for any stack.

I have mentioned this on another thread but I did not want to clutter up that thread with my long post. So I decided to just start a new thread here.

The purpose of this slot machine method is to put a truly shuffled deck secretly into Mnemonica sequence.

This method lets 4 spectators (each with 13 cards) shuffle their cards then play the grok created slot machine game (which is fixed but they don't know that). The game is not fixed as to who will win, but it is fixed in terms of the exact cards that will come up on the grok slot machine display.

This method will use four spectators and 13 slot machine spins that will create a Mnemonica stack, but seven spins (28 cards) must be done and then consolidated. Then the next six spins (24 cards) will be done and consolidated with the first seven spins.

Doing 13 spins is the sure fire way to get a fully shuffled deck back into Mnemonica order, but that's a lot of spins and can become boring. To shorten this process, the magician can keep the last 24 cards of the mnemonica stack and false shuffle them and have the spectators truly shuffle the first 28 cards of the mnemonica stack and then have them play the slot machine game using those 28 cards (at the start of the game each spectator will have any seven of those 28 cards). This process will only require seven spins. After the game is over, the magician adds his 24 cards to the bottom giving a restored mnemonica deck.

I am including prompts for spins 8 thru 13 so the spectators can do it all. But the magician must consolidate after the first seven spins before doing spins 8 through 13 because spins 1 through 7 will use Mnemonica starting positions 1, 8, 15, 22 (note advancing 7) then spins 8 through 13 will use Mnemonica starting positions 29, 35, 41, 47 (note advancing 6). The magician does not have to do any math, the spinning process automatically takes care of getting the cards in the right sequence as long as the spectators place their cards on the right color as designated by the slot machine display.

By doing it this way the magician has the option of either giving a truly shuffled full deck to the four spectators so each will have 13 cards and then do 13 spins playing the game. Or the magician can start with a Mnemonica deck and give just the first 28 cards to the spectators so they can shuffle them and have any seven cards each (of the Mnemonica top 28) and then play the slot machine game and the magician just adds his false shuffled 24 cards at the end of their game.

Below is Mnemonica (each column is a spin):

Below for spins 1 through 7:
4C 2H 7D 3C 4H 6D AS
5H 9S 2S QH 3D QC 8H
6S 5S 9H KC 2D JH 3S
8S 6H TC 5D KD 2C 3H

Below for spins 8 through 13:

KH JC 7S TH AD 4S
7H 4D AC 9C JS QD
7C QS TD 6C AH 9D
End of stack

Initial grok prompt for a still image of a slot machine with four wheels:

Create the image of a slot machine that has four wheels that display three character text on each wheel. The text on the 1st wheel will be the color orange, the text on the second wheel will be the color green, the text on the third wheel will be the color yellow, the text on the fourth wheel will be the color blue. Make the view of this slot machine squared up for a front view.

Note that grok will give you many initial images to choose from so take the one that is showing the four text displays in the largest font and the best looking slot machine and use it to make an initial video. Then use the following prompts to create your text images (Note that I tried to create actual playing card images but that was almost impossible to get it right). So using text such as "2H" or "10S" seems to work perfect nearly every time.

Spin 1 (advancing 7) prompt:
Make each wheel spin at a different rate of speed and then stop each wheel independently at different times in a frozen position, make the final display show the image of all white with the orange words "4C" and the image of all white with the green words "5H" and the image of all white with the yellow words "6S" and the image of all white with the blue words "8S". The final view remains frozen.

Spin 2 (advancing 7) prompt:
Make each wheel spin at a different rate of speed and then stop each wheel independently at different times in a frozen position, make the final display show the image of all white with the orange words "2H" and the image of all white with the green words "9S" and the image of all white with the yellow words "5S" and the image of all white with the blue words "6H". The final view remains frozen.

Spin 3 (advancing 7) prompt:
The four wheels are in a row horizontally, but make each wheel spin at a different rate of speed and in a different direction and then each wheel stops at different times, make each wheel spin fast but appear to stop randomly, make the final display show the image of all white with the orange words "7D" and the image of all white with the green words "2S" and the image of all white with the yellow words "9H" and the image of all white with the blue words "10C". the final view remains frozen.

Spin 4 (advancing 7) prompt:
The four wheels are in a row horizontally, but make each wheel spin at a different rate of speed and in a different direction and then each wheel stops at different times, make each wheel spin fast but appear to stop randomly, make the final display show the image of all white with the orange words "3C" and the image of all white with the green words "QH" and the image of all white with the yellow words "KC" and the image of all white with the blue words "5D". the final view remains frozen.

Spin 5 (advancing 7) prompt:
The four wheels are in a row horizontally, but make each wheel spin at a different rate of speed and in a different direction and then each wheel stops at different times, make each wheel spin fast but appear to stop randomly, make the final display show the image of all white with the orange words "6D" and the image of all white with the green words "3D" and the image of all white with the yellow words "2D" and the image of all white with the blue words "KD". the final view remains frozen.

Spin 6 (advancing 7) prompt:
The four wheels are in a row horizontally, but make each wheel spin at a different rate of speed and in a different direction and then each wheel stops at different times, make each wheel spin fast but appear to stop randomly, make the final display show the image of all white with the orange words "6D" and the image of all white with the green words "QC" and the image of all white with the yellow words "JH" and the image of all white with the blue words "2C". the final view remains frozen.

Spin 7 (advancing 7) prompt:
The four wheels are in a row horizontally, but make each wheel rotate at a different rate and rotate at a different direction and then each wheel stops at different times, make each wheel spin fast but appear to stop randomly, make the final display show the image of all white with the orange words "AS" and the image of all white with the green words "8H" and the image of all white with the yellow words "3S" and the image of all white with the blue words "3H". the final view remains frozen.

Spin 8 (advancing 6) prompt:
The four wheels are in a row horizontally, but make each wheel rotate fast at a different rotation speed and rotate at a different direction and then the first wheel stops, then the second wheel stops, then the third wheel stops, then the fourth wheel stops, make the final display show the image of all white with the orange words "8D" and the image of all white with the green words "KH" and the image of all white with the yellow words "7H" and the image of all white with the blue words "7C". The final view remains frozen. There is no other things moving besides the four Wheels on the slot machine.

Spin 9 (advancing 6) prompt:
The four wheels are in a row horizontally, but make each wheel rotate fast at a different rate and rotate at a different direction and then the first wheel stops, then the second wheel stops, then the third wheel stops, then the fourth wheel stops, make the final display show the image of all white with the orange words "5C" and the image of all white with the green words "JC" and the image of all white with the yellow words "4D" and the image of all white with the blue words "QS". The final view remains frozen.

Spin 10 (advancing 6) prompt:
The four wheels are in a row horizontally, but make each wheel rotate fast at a different rate and rotate at a different direction and then the first wheel stops, then the second wheel stops, then the third wheel stops, then the fourth wheel stops, make the final display show the image of all white with the orange words "KS" and the image of all white with the green words "7S" and the image of all white with the yellow words "AC" and the image of all white with the blue words "10D". The final view remains frozen.

Spin 11 (advancing 6) prompt:
The four wheels are in a row horizontally, but make each wheel rotate very fast at a different rate and rotate at a different direction and then the first wheel stops, then the second wheel stops, then the third wheel stops, then the fourth wheel stops, make the final display show the image of all white with the orange words "JD" and the image of all white with the green words "10H" and the image of all white with the yellow words "9C" and the image of all white with the blue words "6C". The final view remains frozen.

Spin 12 (advancing 6) prompt:
The four wheels are in a row horizontally, but make each wheel rotate very fast at a different rate and rotate at a different direction and then the first wheel stops, then the second wheel stops, then the third wheel stops, then the fourth wheel stops, make the final display show the image of all white with the orange words "8C" and the image of all white with the green words "AD" and the image of all white with the yellow words "JS" and the image of all white with the blue words "AH". The final view remains frozen.

Spin 13 (advancing 6) prompt:
The four wheels are in a row horizontally, but make each wheel rotate fast at a different rate and rotate at a different direction and then the first wheel stops, then the second wheel stops, then the third wheel stops, then the fourth wheel stops, make the final display show the image of all white with the orange words "10S" and the image of all white with the green words "4S" and the image of all white with the yellow words "QD" and the image of all white with the blue words "9D". The final view remains frozen.

Instructions:
To play this game the magician puts 4 special blank cards but they have a huge color spot on the face of each card (an orange card, a green card, a yellow card, and a blue card) face up on the table as marker cards for the spectators to place their cards face up on (at the appropriate time and on the appropriate color as designated by the slot machine display).

A neutral spectator is the score keeper and has a pencil and a notepad with the four spectator's names on it. A spectator gets one point if they are the first person to place their card after a spin. They also get one point for placing their card on the blue card pile (if the slot machine designated it). If they place their card on the wrong pile, the magician must correct that situation.

At the end of the first seven spins the magician must pick up the blue pile and place these cards still face up on top of the face up yellow pile, then pick those two piles up together and place them face up on the face up green pile, and then pick all of those up and place them face up onto the face up orange pile. These 28 cards are set aside face up (these are now in Mnemonica positions 1 through 28).

And now the magician continues to do spins 8 through 13 doing the same process and the same game. At the end of this process, the magician has a little document to give to the winner that says something like "Special award to the luckiest magician's assistant".

Now the magician picks up the four piles (the result of spins 8 through 13) the same way as before and places those 24 face up cards on top of the 28 face up cards that were set to the side.

Now the magician can pick up the entire deck and turn it face down and it is in perfect Mnemonica sequence ready to do whatever.

I have created and tested 13 four second grok videos and intend to put them in my G Drive and post a link later in this thread to them.

I may create a YouTube video that has these 13 grok videos.

Once I make them available: for your own personal use you can use your cell phone to video these 13 Grok videos which amount to about 1 minute of total video time. When playing the slot machine game, be sure to hit the pause key immediately after each spin to make sure that each of the four cards was properly placed on the correct pile.

But in the meantime I have given you Mnemonica users the prompts above that can allow you to create your own 13 videos.

For any other stack, you can alter the prompts with the correct card names that are appropriate for each spin and create your own permanent videos.

Here are my little 13 grok movies that you can highlight each link and play it as a spin. Stop each spin after 3 seconds to give the spectators time to place their cards on the proper pile (4 cards placed after each spin). Then just exit the video and highlight and play the next spin video, there's no need to complete the full 6 seconds of each video.

You might want to turn your volume all the way down so you don't have to hear the irritating sound effects.

This is somewhat awkward way of executing the videos, but it is my first attempt. What is really needed is an app that you can play each spin and it would automatically stop with the final display of that spin and then when ready for the next spin you push a "next spin" button and it goes on and plays and automatically stops on the final display of that spin and so on.

This would make the execution very simple and allow as much time as needed between spins to make sure the spectators have properly placed the four cards.

These spins are working for me and I hope you guys can see them.

Actually let each little video play the full 6 seconds. It works fine because it leaves the image on the screen. When I was testing on my laptop it did not leave the final image on each spin. Therefore, I had to stop it early at about the 3 or 4 second mark before the image vanished. Playing these little videos here on the Magic Cafe is working quite well I suspect because my cell phone player is leaving the final image (of each spin) up on my cell phone screen.

I have made some improvements to the 13 little videos by displaying the "spin number" on each video. This will help the magician to know the next video to play. I will post these better videos later.

Also I plan to make another 13 videos for each of these stacks:

Aronson
Redford
Si Stebbins
Purple Tritium

Also to help me know what video I am looking at I will display the name of a casino that secretly conveys the stack the video is for:

"Treasure" = Tamariz Mnemonica
"Aria" = Aronson
"Red Rock" = Redford
"Sahara" = Si Stebbins
"Palazzo" = Purple Tritium

Note that the first letter of the casino is the same as the first letter of the stack that the video is for.

This not only will help me personally, but also any magician that might accidentally have selected the wrong 13 videos to use would know that they had the wrong videos if the casino name is not right for the stack they are using.

If this whole process was done via an app, then the app should let the magician have a choice of the popular stacks and have the ability to create a custom stack that the app could use.

I just figured out how to give permission for everybody to view and play my 13 videos. So now you should be able to play them. See three posts above for the 13 links.

These links are to better videos because these videos show the Spin number and also show the word "Treasure" which the "T" in Treasure is my clue that this is for "T"amariz mnemonica.
Be sure to consolidate the 4 piles after placing the 4 cards for Spin 7.
