Koz,
Hey I guess that would explain it. I don't think they outlawed street performing all together, but they might have asked him not to come back. He'd always tell me how many complaints he got, and just said he'd keep at it, until they tossed him out. I sure hope they didn't, his shows only offend a couple people but everyone loves him. Does this mean he won't be coming back down here? I haven't spoken with him in forever.

Off topic but oh well.
IF anyone heres from Joey please PM me. The area that we live in was hit pretty hard with the hurricane that just went through here. We were very lucky not to have been lost in the storm power is back on and things are getting back to normal but the phones are still out. Any contact would be great. Cheers

I agree with you Michael Finney's DVD's are great. I really believe that the most important parts were what were said and not what was shown.
Good Stuff Joey, I saw the shop on the news it did not look good. I guess we need to thank God for small favors.

Put me down for the Banachek DVD's as one of the best of 2004. The stuff he tips on these is unreal. It felt as though he were giving away some of the "ancient secrets" of magic. Where else can you learn to do magic that seems real while at the same time getting to hold the hand of one the hottest L and L girls to be on tape in a long time (besides Tania, of course.) Get these tapes and be amazed, intrigued and most of all...excited.

If they came out this year I would like to add Richard Osterlind's Mind Mysteries. I have never seen a better source for mentalism routines on DVD in my life. this is really a must buy!

Cellini's DVD is on my worst list. Most of what I saw was common sense from trial and error. Trial and error is what people need to learn.
Just my opinion. |

Consider it done I've started a new thread.
Back on track: I'd like to throw in a vote for the art of card splitting as one of the best dvds of the year. While you won't really floor anyone with the effects on these dvds, I'd have to say that they're gonna save me a boatload of cash and that makes this dvd worth its weight in gold.

"The Art of Street Performing" DVD had a very personal feel to it. He shared what we he felt were the beneath the surface elements of putting together a money-making street show, autobiographical info and more.
I'm guessing that is why some view this work as such a treasure. I can imagine if you have seen Cellini perform live, or have seen his routines etc. this work would offer a chance to get a better glimpse of the man himself and not just the tricks/lines. For me, I bought the DVD blind and hadn't researched its contents. I fell flat for me because I expected and wanted routines/tricks. I had studied enough street entertainment to understand what "typically" works on the street vs. what "typically" doesn't. I wanted to see him performing. |
