I've apparently gotten out of sync between my paid purchases and free selections at lybrary, and can't download any more free items (even when I buy more). So far Chris hasn't been able to help.

Let me explain for the benefit of all. We consider free downloads a perk to our Lybrary.com community, a bonus to those who support our authors and creators. Even though a download is free, it doesn't mean it is worthless. To better communicate that value to our community, we have put some boundary conditions on free downloads. Everybody gets a couple of free downloads, no matter what. This is so that one can experience the Lybrary offering without any strings attached. But it is not limitless. After those initial free downloads, we apply an approximate rule of $5 spent for each free download. Thus, if you can't download any free products, count how many you have already downloaded, multiply by $5, and see how that relates to your total spent on Lybrary.com.

If you have spent more than that and still can't download free products, please contact me.

In case anyone thought I was trying to imply anything negative about lybrary.com, I want to explain that I almost certainly have access to more free items than my purchases would justify (though I'm not going to go through and add up all the numbers). I appreciate Chris's site and it's the first place I look when purchasing new magic books.

My only problem is that there is no way to buy free items, even if I'm willing to pay for them.

Yeah, and although I buy something just about every month, I doubt I've spent over $600.
