I hope to be in Key West in the next week or two. I am looking for info on who is currently performing there now as well as information on an inexpensive place to park my Ford Transit van. Any help is appreciated! It will be my first time there.

I am in Key West as I write. I was part of the Sunset Festival last night and will be part of it again tonight before leaving tomorrow. The website link gives you most of what you need to know. Make sure you have the insurance squared away because it is required. Tony is the administrator who checks that you have what you need. Good guy, as are the rest of the performers. I am staying at Boyd's Campground. Not cheap, but nice. Unfortunately, it is on the opposite side of the Key from Mallory Square.

Who are some of the other performers and acts down there right now?

The Keys have changed in the of couple decades. Funding anything cheap is not going to happen. Everything on The Rock is expensive.

Reese, Tobin, David, Jace, and Blue were working. I got Gazzo's spot for two nights. It was an honor. Thanks to the other performers who were welcoming!

In his book, "Callahan's Key," The Professor is trying to talk Jake Stonebender into giving up Long Island and moving down to the Keys. The book is set in the '80's, and Jake asks about the cost of living; "Worth every penny... but bring lots of pennies."

The people who made The Keys what it is are not able to afford to live there. Certainly Key West is tough. I lived in Key Largo for 3 years and it was changing back in the early 2000’s. It has changed. I won’t say better or worse, just change.

It sounds a lot like what happened to Greenwich Village in the '70's.
