Okay, here goes. My Church asked me to help with Bible school this year. I can handle the clown side no problem. Sharing my faith, No problem Using my tried and true set off illusions--Problem. I do a funny clown magic show. The illusions are the stratospere, silk serenade, magic coloring book. Milk Pitcher,an Ickle Pickle zippered Gag Bag, Chinese sticks,[I really need to update some things] and hopefully a square circle(I'm making it).
If anyone has some good patter that they don't mind sharing I would be greatly in debt. Thanks, Scruffy |

As far as your Stratosphere goes (That's the one with 3 colored balls, right?), there's an excellent patter that has to do with keeping God first in your life. It's available in a few Gospel Magic publications and I'm sure there's some guys on the forum that know the routine (I've only read it and seen it performed...I don't know it well enough to describe it).
Good luck! You'll have an awesome time spreading the Word to the kids at your church! |

Perhaps now it is too late, but I'm new and do have lots of routines for Gospel Magic.
I'm sure I have several for some of the ones you have listed. If you still need help, PM me. Also, why not share what you did this year if they worked out well and you were pleased with them. We can learn from each other. John The Gospel Magic Man |

Sorry, I've ment to do this for a week and just couldn't make the time.
I didn't do any Gospel magic. At first they were only going to give me 5min. I explained that it takes a good 30-45 min just to get into makeup and costume and athough I was willing and would do it; that was a lot of work for only five minutes. I ended up with game time (about 20) and did my basic program under my usual premise, namely I got a magic set for my birthday and wanted to show the kids my new tricks. It went off without a hitch. I now know I need to prepare a Gospel presentation. What I was up against was making mine fit with the theme of Bible School. The ongoing theme was Pauls Missionary journeys. I was having trouble making my illusions fit the theme. Go any other s adapt their show to themes or do you just have a basic presentation that you follow? |

Scruffy, I had the same problem this year with VBS. My church did the one about Saul/Paul, too. I didn't do any magic, but I brought some of my puppets in and we did a really cool mini-show about Paul on the boat (storm). We had sound effects and everthing...pretty neat.
If I'm doing gospel magic for a particular event or children's sermon, then I try to adapt it to that message. Otherwise, a solid show isn't bad at all. |
