So here's an example of AI saving me a crazy amount of time - I did a test search for a performance coming up and the #1 result was my website (great news!) but it was outdated information pointing to a performance from last year. I asked Gemini how to fix this. It told me to update the webpage, make sure the description in the SEO settings was also updated, publish the site and then go into Google Search console and request a reindexing of my site.

Since starting this thread I have been hearing more and more from those that want to share and discuss this but prefer not to post, but I must say I have been overwhelmed by those that, along with what I've said previously, are all finding so much incorrect information coming from AI. To me this only makes sense as it crawls the internet for its content, and as I have been saying for years, the internet is filled with old, outdated, and simply incorrect information.
Coincidentally, as this corresponds to a thread on "opinions and controversies," where some of what I've stated relating to opinions and the damage they can incur is also coming onto play here with AI as well. As not only does it crawl the correct information, it also crawls and includes the incorrect information, much of it which comes from opinions at its original source. This is of great concern. I know I have found much incorrect information in my use and experience of AI, but to hear the great amount others are having with this is quite alarming. It is also the result of opinion being mixed in with fact all over the internet. From those I have been hearing from, it is an alarming rate. I would think AI has got to correct this in order to continue with it being the breakthrough tool it is professing to be. So, as it is now, you essentially can use AI to get the output it provides, but is up to you to confirm or prove its accuracy. I have always discussed this "opinion" issue only as it pertains to things here on the Cafe, in particular in Tricky Business. However, I am seeing just how much bigger and concerning this is. And it is not just opinion being accepted as fact, as AI can not decipher the difference, and then add to it the old, outdated information, and it really puts AI in an entirely different light. I hope some that have reached out to me will come on and share their experiences as some of it was amazingly damaging. Their particualr stories could be great for this thread.' I initially wanted to see how other performers and entertainment business owners were using AI in their business, it I am surprised at the issues and problems so many are having for what is supposed to be such a revolutionary tool and resource. Also, I am still curious to those of you that mentioned you might try conducting your own experiments for research purposes. |

Correct. While it can be damaging for those in the entertainment business... it can be much more damaging for those using AI in other areas. Scary stuff. But AI can be extremely helpful in business. Since using AI to help me set up ad campaigns, I've seen a huge drop in cost-per click costs for example. |
