Danny Selnick Magi-Whirl 2026 Chair ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Additional Information RE: Sunday Lectures and Workshops Dan Harlan/SarahElla Phant Sunday Lecture -- Beyond the Props: Magic is rarely remembered because of the props we use. It is remembered because of the moments and connections we create. In this lecture, we explore how storytelling, connection, character, and emotional engagement can transform tricks into meaningful experiences that audiences remember for years. Alongside practical effects and routines, attendees will leave with tools and ideas they can immediately apply to the magic they already perform, helping them create stronger reactions, deeper connections, and more memorable, truly impactful performances. Mark Kalin Sunday Lecture: Putting the Pieces Together – A Lecture For Magicians” covers Kalin and Jinger's creative process, the methods they’ve developed over the years that have been used extensively used by others, and how to best prepare an effect or an act. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Sunday Workshops Require Separate Registration and Payment Mark Kalin will offer a ‘performance evaluation' of a total of six videos by attendees of their show or a performance (under 10 minutes). Submitted in advance for Mark to watch and take notes. During the workshop he will offer our suggestions and advice, and share a portion of the video(s) to best illustrate that advice. A full group Q&A session is included. In addition to the six registrants who submit videos, others can also register (up to a max of 15 people in total. Dan Harlan and SarahElla Phant World Premiere Workshop: Speakeasiest the next evolution of Dan Harlan's acclaimed Speakeasy two-person code system. Speakeasy allowed partners to secretly communicate numbers, symbols, colors, dates, names, and other information while speaking naturally and casually. Speakeasiest takes that concept even further, creating an even more powerful, more flexible, and more practical system that can be learned quickly and used almost anywhere. Speakeasiest is not yet available anywhere else, making this a unique opportunity for attendees to be among the very first magicians to learn and use the system. |
