A few members in my SAM club in San Antonio thought it was a pretty good idea...a fishing vest (lots of pockets) underneath a solid conservative sports jacket...I'm als using a black canvas tool bag (also lots of pockets with a large interior....I tried using stick on letters to put my Magic name (MagiCal and email address) but they fell off..I'm thinking of putting them on again with a little clear polyuretane over the top of them..I'm open to your thoughts and ideas...

I can't imagine why you would need a fishing vest under a sports jacket. You don't need that many pockets. At any event you will usually only do a handful of tricks.

And, in my opinion, it's a mash-up of looks. Are you working fairs and festivals? The vest might work, ditch the coat. I would not wear a fishing vest and a sport coat to a party or on stage. Or, ever. So I might be biased. But another thing to consider is this: you will be HOT performing in that.

I’m an avid fisherman and have had a variety of fishng vests over the years. I can’t image wearng one with a sports jacket or anything else over it. At what type of venue would you be working where a fishng vest and sports coat would fit? The pockets on a fishng vest are usually closed with zippers and or velcro so it might be a little inconvient to use them.
It’s an interesting idea to use a fishng vest but it would be very limiting as to venue and ease of use

Yes, I think just keeping things simple with a sport coat is best. I find vests limiting for several reasons, but some magicians wear them and do it well.
