I can ask the question about leaks today when I walk by the booth and post it later. Don’t know the answer to that question but I can tell you that both visually and I feel you cannot see where the work was done once it is adhered.

A separate cost to perform this routine ?

Well the shadow routine is not being sold with this product so I don't really know why they are using it to help market it in the first place. If that performer chose to sell it, (Which I'm not aware that they have) it would need a tabletop shadow box illusion and a different special bottle. So kind of misleading to suggest that this is the sort of thing you could do with this apparatus.

The performer who did the shadowbox routine is here at the booth at Magic Live! to answer questions.

I ordered mine about fifteen minutes ago.
I've been making impossible bottles using traditional methods for the past 15 years. That's why I'm really interested in mixing bottles like these in with my other impossible bottles.

Maybe it is just me... I enjoyed the effect very much! But then I started to think. How would I accomplish this with my limited knowledge? Well, obvious way is to remote the bottom off the bottle and then glue it back. It is the most obvious solution after all. And sorry if I am wrong but that seems to be exactly what is going on in here as well. And now the part that most people don't seem to consider. If that is the obvious solution, don't you think that is also what laymen will think!!!

So, the end result is amazing, but is it magic or is it a puzzle... Havent seen this in person, but is the gaff really reliable enough make sure that end result will withstand the scrutinity and examination. Yes, in theatre show or such, most people only see the effect on stage. But in any event, lets day under 100 people, where most people know each other (weddings, anniversaries, corporate events etc), they will want to look at the bottle! And it will be examined! Especially the gaffed part since it is the obvious solution. So it better be perfect. For that price I kinda assume it should be. But, knowing the history of Montoros products... I am somewhat sceptical...

That's exactly right! I understand the objection, and I almost completely agree with it.
That's why I would also recommend not overdoing it.
For example, a billiard ball looks fantastic inside a bottle, but it practically screams "trickery" and makes people assume the object somehow entered through the bottom of the bottle.
On the other hand, if you use something like a signed coin, a wedding ring, or another personal object, people can later convince themselves that maybe it somehow passed through the bottle's neck due to heat, cold, or some unusual physical effect. That leads the audience down the wrong path.
That's why I wouldn't exaggerate the size of the object.

Have ordered this. Couldn’t resist the urge.
Whilst the shadow routine is beautiful, it’s very unique a certain style of performance. And the routine I love the most is the idea with the padlock, so many presentational options with that, my mind is racing at the moment.
I cannot wait to get this in and start working on it.

For me and many others, YES you want to "over-do" it. It makes for a much larger surprise at the reveal. There are plenty of other options for coin-in-bottle, etc. If I was to, I wouldn't be spending $2000 for coin/ring in bottle when I can go bigger.

A hilarious routine would be to have someone's credit card materialize in the bottle. Tell them that their account has been suspended... In a bottle. Smile
How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.

Don’t kill me, but I didn’t have time to ask today. I was hoping to but running a booth it’s just too much of a slam and it was the last day. Hopefully we can all find out soon and if anyone knows, please chime in.

My wife’s Norwegian and I appreciate your Scandinavian skepticism but I’m gonna respectfully disagree with your conjecture.

Having seen the work and having seen how it works… there is absolutely nothing to see whatsoever in terms of the work done. Perhaps I’m jaded because I made the purchase myself, but I’ve been a student of Magic my entire life and I’m also a creator and I do think that this is a groundbreaking effect that will not offer an easy solution to the audience. In my opinion, it should not be presented as a puzzle although many will see it as such, but you can say that about all magic. I believe this demands an emotional presentation to take it beyond the realm of a puzzle.

I believe the mechanical operation of this prop can be perfected for assembling the bottle. But what should I say if a spectator asks to see what is inside your bag?

Audience management.
There should be no heat on the inside of the bag if it’s performed correctly.
What would a curious spectator expect to see?
A computerized electronic mechanism that is a kind of mini robot that uses UV light & special
Glue? Probably not.

However, Joao and his team created a very clever false bottom that completely covers the mechanism and matches the outer paper completely. So instead of waiting for the spectator to ask you to show them the bag, it’s probably better to defuse by simply showing the inside of the bag as there’s nothing to see.

Everyone should do whatever they like, but for me, such a powerful trick is worth paying much more attention to and investing a little more

in more sophisticated presentations, such as the shadow routine or other trick containers. To me, the paper bag is just a kind of starter

kit for beginners, and it also looks oversized and not particularly magical. But I realize that many people will see it differently ...

I now received a response regarding whether it is leak-proof when pouring in a liquid. It is supposed to

be possible, but I am still waiting for another response to be absolutely sure that this is actually true

But maybe someone who already owns the trick can try this out as well and confirm it.

Nobody owns it yet, it’s still pre-sale for delivery in September I think.

I'm confused why you'd want to pour a liquid into the bottle. The purposed here is to efficiently and deceptively put a solid object (and perhaps signed) into an empty bottle. The bottle itself does not have a cap at the end. You could fill it up after it's produced and reseal with a cap using a device like Axel Hecklaw's Cola Cap but that would likely dilute the premise of the effect.

That may be your opinion, but I see it exactly the other way around or at least as an additional option for a different presentation.
The first impression remains, after all: the bottle is empty and contains an object. Of course, the bottle is not filled with liquid if
there is a watch or something similar inside it. I leave the rest to your imagination or to those who like my idea because I love it.

I thought the idea of the bottle being able to hold liquid was in case a curious spectator decided to see if it would actually hold water.
If it were to leak that might really give away the game, at least to them. But not sure it would be a big deal in the overall scheme of things.

I'm trying to imagine this. I don't have this, but if I did, I personally wouldn't want liquid anywhere near such an expensive device, in case it spills on it. If I were to load the item and seal the bottom, and then load with liquid (maybe putting the spectator's item inside a plastic baggie to protect it, like Can O' Corn) and seal the top ... that's a long revelation.

But I will wait to see what others come up with.
