Looking for an old Rubik’s Cube trick/routine
I’m trying to track down a Rubik’s Cube trick I used to perform years ago, but I can’t remember the name of it. The effect was roughly: A spectator names any colour on the cube. You mix the cube and clearly show that their chosen colour is scattered across all the different sides. You then ask them to hold out one hand, place the cube on their palm and have them cover it with their other hand. After a magical gesture, they uncover the cube. You show five sides of the cube and their selected colour has completely disappeared from all of them. You then turn the cube over and reveal that every piece of their chosen colour has apparently migrated to the final face, which is now completely solved. I remember there being a relatively short algorithm/setup involving some L moves, but I can't remember exactly what it was. It definitely wasn't the full 4-4-6 routine/algorithm. Does this ring a bell with anyone? I'd love to know the name of the trick/routine, or where it was originally taught. |
