Michael P. Lair's method was published in a recent Magic Magazine issue.

What else besides glitter and confetti? I know that Michael Rubenstein does it with a handful of thumb tacks refering to tax. Seems like this idea could go along way if applied.

For a great version of the "Clones" effect, go to Ron Bauer's website - under secret stuff he has a free download called "Clones From Brazil". It is his take on Pat's idea. Originally appeared in a 1982 Genii, if memory serves...

Hi Wearing your loaded TT do a retention type vanish and load the TT at the same time. Do a crushing the coin type move allowing the glitter to fall out. Hold the TT loaded hand -back out- at about your neck level and bring your other hand accross to open the other hand and as you do so inset your thumb into the loaded hand and do the pickup, use the thumb to open the hand and do a normal TT loaded type display. I just had an idea that might work.
Gimmick coin on a pull palmed in right hand at side. Left hand displays visible coin, then it shuttle passes to right to display (switching in the pull coin). Left hand either has a reason to go to pocket (secretly getting glitter) or retrieves a pile of it using a dump gimmick attached as a coin clip or coin dumper would be (steal action covered in the same fashion as any steal is made). The pull coin seems to go to the left hand but is released and then the entire left hand can open to show glitter. Both hands empty. Similar to the Downs idea, except glitter and coin are separate. You could even use the Houdin idea, as Jonathan reminded me in another topic. Coin is in left hand, shuttled to right in order to heat it by the flame of a candle which is on your right side, steal is made, coin is transfered back to left when it supposedly is getting too hot for the right hand to hold and the right hand might reposition the candle, then the left hand opens above the flame letting glitter out. The glitter could even be wrapped in a flash paper ball. The effect would be the coin got too hot to hold in the right, was put in left, and the left hand couldn't handle the hot coin so it is dropped right into the flame....POOF! zero coin. Or, for more simplicity. Draw no attention to the shuttle pass and simply put the "coin" into left hand in order to grab the base of the candlestick with right hand to move it to the left, hold open left hand over flame and reveal the transformation. Or... Hold real coin in right, shuttle to left where pull coin AND flash packet are held, touch packet into flame as packet and coin are released. If done well the coin would litterally look like it burst into glitter since it leaves sight as the flash paper ignites. This way the coin is seen up until the very last second. It might be a good idea, or maybe it's pure junk. Not having the resources the other have mentioned this is what popped into my head. Whaddaya think? Another idea! Another way to load a TT using a well-known vanish. Anyone familiar with Eugene Burger's coins through the table knows he uses a basic sponge ball vanish with coins. Just use the trnasfer as usual but while wearing a TT and the load and vanish are both a piece of cake.
If you were a hotdog, and you were starving...would you eat yourself? I know I would!
