I'll recommend them highly!
There's a lot of unique, inventive ideas on our favorite gimmick! Some of the segments are performances & secrets, but rather discussion of certain aspects of the TT. T. A. Waters discusses ideas for mentalism, and Chris Broughten actually discusses how to MAKE a custom TT. IMHO, no matter how much you think you may know about the TT, this video will start you thinking in new directions. I actually put these videos on a par with Gary Darwin's books (You DO have Darwin's books on the TT, don't you?) |

I don't have them, myself, but I was considering them until I saw a review on another board that said the material could have been condensed onto one single tape and nothing was really earth-shatteringly new.
That "3-video set" mentality these days is getting a bit annoyingly expensive. You're obligated to get all 3 because of how the good material is scattered. Why do videos cost so much again? |

I like them a lot, you get a lot of different perspectives on the TT and you get to see a lot of different artists.I think Whit Hayden is on one using a TT and a pull...or was it a bill from raw egg?

Hi,
Kevin James Video on TT was a major disappointment, old hat. 50 tricks with a thumb tip for a few dollars is a great investment. Yours faithfully Dan Kirsch |

Good Morning,
For what my two cents is worth I'd have to say that while some of the material might be considered run of the mill there is still a lot of information within this set of tapes. Thanks, Vincent |

Greetings...
I own the 3 volume set and love it. They are professionally produced and a very nice supplement to the 25 Tricks video. I consider this set the definitive guide to the world's most versatile magic utility gimmick. Plenty of effects to examine and incorporate into your own routine. |

I bought the three volume set in Blackpool and two of them were blank.
I guess they disappeared into a thumbtip! |

I just sold the set here on the Café'.
All in all, it wasn't earth shattering, as a person said. However, the stuff Daryl does on the tapes was quite nice. Some interesting ways to combine the tt with other effects. I would concure that 3 volumes, like many videos, could have been reduced to one. One item, and I could be wrong here, is that while Kevin James put them out... it was a re-release? It looks like they were orginally put together by someone else. John |

Sohpie Evans, I believe.
I might have been one of the people in another thread to suggest that it could have been condensed to one tape. However, it's still a good series, I wouldn't recommend against it. The Darwin material has just as much filler, partly because he tends to drag things out a bit, but that too is a good series. Lastly, if you're looking for the most concise, all inclusive SINGLE tape or disc video on TTs, no one touches Patrick Page's Secret Seminars TT tape. He very nearly covers it all in one fell swoop, so to speak. As for the Rules of Thumb series, I have tapes 2 and 3, but 1 met a tragic end. Being that I've already watched them all several times, I really don't see the point of keeping them now without the entire set. Anyone interested in buying 2 and 3 ? I'll put this up on the sale forum too of course. $20 takes 'em.
Just hanging out with the rest of my fellow dregs.
