Besides blaspheming can Jay Sankey really do any good effects?I have his Best of... series, and after all the rave I heard about him I was very dissapointed. Some of the tricks seemed more like gags rather than magic.I hardly think he could stand up to the likes of Michael Ammar,Paul Harris or Bill Malone.
I find the duel between the masked magician(not even upper case for this jerk) and the Tiger. The Blaine issue is a weird one.Just because he wasn't as good(technically) as say Darwin Ortiz, everyone gives him carrots.I think he got his point across by entertaining the audience. He astounded lots of people with simple trick. Now everybody is cheesed-off because he came up with an original idea of strolling around and making money.(Why didn't I think of this?- is what most people are thinking)Terrible thing envy. I personally prefer Bill Malone to Ortiz, but Ortiz is probably better technically. But I would bad mouth Ortiz. Andre |

This thread is beginning to remind me of something that happened in the New York Lounge in Chicago. I was sitting at the bar and Nick the owner was there doing magic for someone.
It was early on a Friday night so it wasn't that busy. I was in there killing time before a club meeting that had not started at Magic Inc. Nick was doing magic for a group of people - a person said after the magic effect - "Wow your great"... Nick was in a playful mood he said - "I do magic for you you say I'm great" (he then pointed at me) " if he does magic for you you will say he's great" (then he pointed at Heba Haba al) "and if Heba does magic for you you will say he's great"... "WE'RE ALL GREAT!" "Get the money that is what is important" Nick said as he picked up his tips and walked away... I look at this thread and think - "They're all great!

Pete Biro vs. Johnny Thompson. These two know more about magic then most of us have a right to know. Even tho I have never met him throw in Bill Palmer as well. I'm sure he could hold his own as well!

Not sure what kind of imagination to call that. I'll go with scary. I see him more in the roll of one of those referee guys.

I would love to have seen Max Malini and Nate Liepzig work for the same audience. Their styles, by all accounts, were so vastly different, yet so equally compelling, that the responses would have been interesting...

It was a unanimous decision between Steve Forte and I and I LOST but it was a great fight. I couldn’t take another beating like that even though I won a couple of rounds, but for the rest of you watch out because I bite and scratch.

It was meant to be funny, but I realized that I shouldn't have said what I did about David Blaine. Anyway, here's a cut-and-paste excerpt from another post I made about David that maybe will help redeem me. Again I sincerely apologize to anyone I offened, including (and especially) David Blaine.
