Slightly off topic, but somewhat relevant:
Here's an even more blatant ebay ripoff type:

Combbound or staple bound magic manuscript + ebay = possible rip-off.

A few months/years back there was a guy (a magic shop owner at that!!!) who was selling a combbound book for less than it's WHOLESALE PRICE. He sold these xeroxes repeatedly until discovered, then tried to do it through another ebay seller. This is not rumor, as I've seen the book and talked with the author. It is an obvious dupe.

Be careful.

Well guys, here in Portugal I have a small magic shop. I've been getting clients from several magic convenctions and mailing them catalogs. I am now in the process of making my website.

Well, here we have another magic shop and the guy copies everything he can and makes copies of it to sell. when he cannot copy, he buys rip-offs from china and india, that are a lot cheaper than the original.

One example is the bavli bending card. I once contacted bavli asking to translate the instructions to portuguese, witch he agreed if I inclueded the original english ones. For me, no problem. legally I didn't had to ask, cause here in Portugal we have a law that says that everything sold here must have instructions in portuguese. I could have just translated without asking, but I wouldn't fell good with myself. So I aked, got the permission, everything fine.

Now, that other guy, he got a friend to buy a bending card from me, he copied the trick and my instructions, so now, hes ripping bavli off on the card, and me on my translations and he is selling below wholesale, witch makes it impossible to compete.

So how to deal with this? I do not know, but no one cares. they buy from him anyway.

One another side, and this is funny in a way. The not funny part first. This guy, besides the magic shop, he as a printer, so he copies tapes and dvd's and at his printer prints the covers and labels. The copies look original.
Well a friend of mine once bought a tape, and after the magic (now here is the funny part), was a porno movie. the guy copied a magic tape on top of a porno movie and didn'terased the rest. As hard as it is to believe, this is true.

Just my own experience as a seller and magician who hates rip offs.
