Is there any way to change a regular coin for a coin with a shell. The only thing I find in Bobo's that might work is a utility switch. Please PM me if you have a better method.

Utility switch or shuttle pass.
The main thing to remember is that the switch IS NOT the trick, simply a means to an ends. Do what ever switch you like to accomplish the trick. A good example is David Blaine. If you watch during his coin bite routine, half the time he doesn't even do a switch. The spectators don't care about the move, they want to see the trick. |

gimmick,
Is there a reason why you want to SWITCH a coin for a coin with a shell? It is much easier to simply add the shell to the coin instead of switching it out. |

Really? I couldn't begin to imagine how you could smoothly get a EX. Shell on a coin. and I don't remember seeing it in Bobo's.

Gimmick,
If you have a shell in classic or finger palm with the shell mouth up, you can simply slide or press the coin into the shell. It is not a big deal. I do it all the time. For example if I am doing 4 coins across and a coin had a shell, I Classic Palm off the shell and casually drop the coins in a spectator's hands as I explain what the coins are. When I take them back, I simply press a coin up into my palm and then count the coins into my other hand. They never know anything was different. When you ring in a shell instead of trying to switch out a coin with a shelled coin, you don't have to worry about trying to ditch the other coin, it is more convienient this way. |

If you really had to switch it however, a palm to palm change would work well.

If you can do it with both hands, more possibilities are opened up.
Throw in some C/S and E.S. and you can have some very interesting routines. Check out the August, 2002, Linking Ring, Havenly Close Up for a Nearly Normal Change Routine. Harris

There is that new shell with the insert inside so you can turn it both ways. Still can't hand it out.
...think not that all wisdom is in your school. You may have studied other paths, but, it is important to remember that no matter who you are or where you come from, there is always more to learn.

Just experiment with switches. I agree that a shuttle pass is one way to do it.
