Do they last more than 15 years? I really want one but everything I have that is made of latex ...even if I take care of it... starts to crumble away after about 12 years...... Maybe he can make a custom in vinyl ?

Axtell Puppets last surprising long even with hard use. Plus, if parts of the puppet need to be replaced Steve and the gang will do it for a modest charge. Way less then buying a whole new puppet. I had the beak on my vern the bird puppet replaced after about 10 years of good use. It was getting a bit sticky on the inside. But I never used a hand liner and it could have lasted even longer.
They are very durable. Ax...Awesome Madagascar Puppets!!!!!!!!!! |

I agree! No Vent figures are cheap but Axtell's is really well priced and the quality is top of the line. I'm going to Vent Haven again this year and something tells me I'll be leaving with another Axtell product.
If you ever met Steve and his crew you could see why his stuff is so good, they are all class folks.

Got to agree with the positive towards Axtell puppets. They are the most eye catching puppets you can get for your money. If you do Kid shows they will LOVE them. They are not scary looking like the "wooden" type can appear to a child. The adults love them too. And so will you once you start using them.
The minute you put your hand in and make it move, you will know what we mean. It does'nt even have to speak but it will already be alive! As for wanting them to last as long as 15 years, Get real! If you're using the puppets week in week out you can't expect them to last forever. Mine get used for about 6 or 7 shows each week. That means they are let out of their box, perform their routines, then get put away again an average of 364 times each year. Take into account different seasons, & many different working environments and conditions, then you'll realise that they are bound to get some wear and tear. No matter HOW well they are made, they are going to need replacing eventually. The Axtell team do a great job of reparing your puppet instead of replacing it in whole if that's what you'd prefer to happen. At the end of the day, look upon them as an investment. Using Axtell puppets in my area gives me the edge over the rivals here as not all of them can be bothered to invest in them. If you use them with some GREAT routines, they will build your reputation and you will get re-booked on the routines performed with your puppets alone. Don't settle for second best. When you go out to perform, whether for kiddies or adults, you should invest in the BEST puppets. The puppets you use will have a reflection on YOU as a performer. What impression to you want to give to your audience? |

I love Steve's puppets. The kids in the parties I perform for simply go crazy just by the mere sight of it...imagine if we can actually vent it out the way the good vents do
I was just wondering, can the pelican and the orangutan work just as effective for an adult audience? or should a human character be used for an adult crowd? Thanks Wanlu

And I would add that Steve himself is just great. He did some extra artwork for me for my Magic Drawing Board that was wonderful and did not charge me anything. I'd buy from him again in an instant.
