Having finally gotten the complete collection of the Jinx and wading through it all slowly, I was wondering what routines people think John Crimmins Jr. should have included in the "best-of" compilation known as Practical Mental Effects.
Many mentalists have said that tons of useful information and routines were omitted in PME. I was wondering what contributions you all think should have been included. David |

Wouldn't most people have one or the other? I was advised not to buy PME, and just go with the Jinx. Maybe other people did the same or the other way around.

The jinx is the complete companion. If you have PME, then you should also get the Jinx since a lot of stuff was not included. If you have the Jinx, it is nice to have a smaller book of quality routines to wade through. I think they complement each other nicely.

I think Miraskill is one routine that definitely should've been included in PME. It's one of my favorites, along with it's variations.

Miraskill by Stewart James.
I've read PME before and got confused. I like 13 Steps by Corinda more. I have the Jinx on CD-ROM. |

I justed looked into Jinx yesterday evening based on a hint from this website. I looked into a marvelous force called "The Card from Hell". I will not do the trick itself, but the force is just marvelous and I will use it a lot.
Further I read on an looked into Anneman's Psychometry effect (I think it was in Jinx 9, 10 or the summer extra number released between jinx 9 and 10). This was a masterpiece in itself. I cannot say that these are my favorites, but it just shows that every time you pick up the Jinx, you will find something very extraordinary and wonderful. |

This was a masterpiece in itself It's at the very end of issue 9. And I too must say Miraskill is another great one. And one of my favorites is another Stewart James effect "Further Than That" (which you may find in Ammar's videos). I do not recall which issue, but I know it was printed toward the end.
Thanks! Scott B.

The Jinx and Practical Mental Effects are both good. I enjoy looking through my bound volumes of the Jinx not only for the effects, but as to the news of the times and the various "feuds" that were going on within
the fraternity. If I remember correctly, Anneman had a few "cryptic" messages which could be found by looking at the first letter of each line on a page and reading downward. These are scattered on a few pages only. Does anyone else recall this? |
