The Magic Book by Harry Lorayne
I always tell a serious beginner to get "The Magic Book by Harry Lorayne" It was out of print for awhile but L&L is now publishing it. In my anything but humble opinon Lorayne's "Magic Book" is the BEST beginner teaching book bar none. Harry's book is 1) easy to understand, 2) The afterthought's teach the thinking behind the REAL work. 30 just go get the book. Daryl's Encyclopedia of Card Slieghts - Is an awful lot of stuff for a beginner, Michael Ammar's Easy to Master Card Miracles set is super BUT it assumes you already know basic stuff. Ron Ron

Vernon, Slydini and other's pass on their skills via personal tutelage. Find a good card man or women in your area and have them teach you the basics. If one wants to learn how to play a guitar, they usually get an instructor... yes? Consider books and videos as extended learning materials and reference tools.
