This summer while on hollidays I did multiple shows. During slow times at work I busked the fringe. I had to deal with musicians who tried to hog the main pitch at the Forks in Winnipeg, and I met a couple of really nice fellow buskers. I believe they were Chris and Sean from Winnipeg. I think Sean posts here sometimes. I had to lug around my gear and scout out new spots to perform, I learned how to present a routine and how to treat resorts. Although I don't have the expience that many of you have (not even close) I now feel like a real busker. And I wanted to say thanks to Chris for the water! I know I'm rambling...it's late.

Congrats, and best of luck to you in the future!

The only way to know what it is like, is to do it.
Every time I go out, when I get back I reconstruct the whole show mentally and examine what happened when, and why, and think about what would make it better next time. But until you actually do it, all of the conjecture in the world won't do you any good. Congratulations for getting out there and doing it! BroDavid

I did it three times. Once I had a good crowd, but got moved on by a police officer. (Who didn't let me move on all at once mind you, he had me stand there while he explained that he _could_ have arrested me for vagrancy!) And two other times that I just couldn't get a tip gathered. This was years ago and from what I've been reading here, maybe I'll have better luck in the future. (If it happens!)

Good for you man. It takes guts to throw it out there the first time. It gets easier and more enjoyable over time, but the first time is always a rush.
You're a real busker now. Congrats! Best, Mike |

Now you know the Awesome Feeling of being able to walk onto a site with no cash and a few tricks, and 20 minutes later, have at *least* enough to get a sandwich! (ok, not the most romantic way of putting it, but boy does it feel *good*!)

Well I was feeling bored and started to do some magic in the park where we were. Drew a crowd, so I threw a hat I had on the ground in front of me and made about $30 in a short time. I have been doing street work ever since in addition to my regular shows and restaurants. It is such an adrenalin high!! Peter |
