Has anyone bought this effect?
What are your likes and dislikes about it? I for one wish it was a little bit bigger and not flesh colored! Magickman

Hands are shown empty. Clasped together. A very small creature pokes its head from your hands. animates, then disappears. I'm a machine operator and have told my boss plenty of times that gremlins live inside my machine. I'm sure you can see where this is headed. Could be very useful when you hear those magic words "This ain't workin right!" Can be seen at Arlenstudio.com. Magickman

That's creepy stuff. Very cool. Everything on that site looks great. It's a budget streacher though. SK

Slim if you head over to murphys magic supplies, you can see a video of creature in action. Just look it up under tricks and you will see the video on the ad.

This sounds like something Ed Solomon once described.
Is the method of ditching the 'dingus' after the effect pretty clean? Steve Never mind; just looked. It's almost EXACTLY like Ed Solomon's "Little Demon." And, ditching the dingus is as clean as you make it. I like the 'Parasite.' Steve

Doc,
Seems to me a bizarrist can use this most everywhere. It also have the function of being light hearted for laughs or something a bit darker, even a "What the heck was that?" You mention Solomon's Little Demon, is there somewhere I can get more ino on that? Thanks Magickman

Yes.
It is in the Hidden Chambers area of the Dragonskull bizarrist website, maintained by Karl Bartoni. There's lots of good material there. http://www.dragonskull.co.uk/main_map.htm Steve

I want one, but will probably have to settle for the stock Creature or making my own as described at dragonskull. I just don't have the patience to wait out a two month lead time!

When I first saw this performed with Bizarrist delivery at the local Magic Shop I was thrilled. A perfectly simple yet powerful and weird effect. A hideous, larval form produced from your bare hands!
Unable to instantly procure one, I ran home and grafted a small but realistic male doll face to a T.T. Using lots of Krazy Glue and acrylic paint, I molded the features into a grotesque thing. It works quite well. I cut the T.T. almost in half to trim it down. Keep it short and shocking. By the way - that Dragonskull site routine is very interesting. Though tis ideal to craft one's own things - the Monsters mentioned above are so perfectly produced, I am sure this is what I first saw at the shop - - They appeal to the part of me that collected MONSTER mags and cards obsesively. I want all of em'! LINE: " If I could instantly manifest a hideous and larval fleshy, worm-like, tiny man from the palm of my right hand - would I not be a God?" |

It's almost an impromtu "Pickman's Model" from Minch's Lovecraftian Ceremoines. Now there is a bizarre routine!
Believe it or not there is a very easy way to do a retention of vision vanish. I use to use it for a coin vanish, but works great for Creature. My first idea was a hold out. Magickman

Has anyone ever tried a pull to get rid of it? This is how I plan to construct it...

This looks very similar to Alain Nu's version that uses a hand instead of a head. Done properly, these are great effects.
Richard, you can use a pull if you feel the need to but the reaction is so strong that there is plenty of time to "clean up" without getting caught. The advantage of the no pull system is that you can do it at anytime, with or without a coat. I carry the hand with me at all times. |

Richard,
That was my first idea, but I didn't want to get to propy with it. There are plenty of ways to "Dump it" just get out Bobo's Modern coin magic and find a coin vanish for it. Creature is small so its easy to work with! Magickman
