Has anyone had any experience with this effect? It sounds amazing and fits perfectly into my act. Thanks for any information.

It's a good effect, but there are also other ways to do it which are not complicated. If memory serves me well, there are a couple of references on how to do this in one of the volumes of Encyclopedia of Silk Magic. References are also made in a number of other books and videos.

Don't get me wrong, I like a number of Jay Scott Berry's items (as I have a number of them). The gimmick that comes with this trick can be used for other routines. You can show your hands empty before and after the effect. If you get it, I would recommend that you get the DVD/video to the gimmick.

Jay's handling is clean and effortless. I recently received the DVD to his Eclipse tip, and I am amazed by his handling and thinking.

I will be ordering the DVD for the cloaking gimmick. You can place an advance order on the DVD for the FS/2 gimmick (which is the one used for the Immaculate Transformation). I only wish that he put the information for the cloaking device and the FS/2 gimmick on one DVD, since the latter is a variation of the former which is a variation of the Sanada gimmick.

Thanks for the information, but what I want to do is turn a sponge ball into a silk. Out of the many methods you came across, what is the best in your opinion? Must I get the DVD with the gimmick that allows me to turn a sponge ball into a silk? Or will it just aid me in the learning process?

You don't need to get the DVD. It will give you a couple of more routines to do with the FS/2 gimmick plus some additional handling. If you use his Eclipse tip, you can actually start with showing nothing in your hand then produce a red sponge ball, change that to a red silk, then change that to a yellow silk, then change that to a yellow sponge ball, and then wind up with nothing.

The FS/2 gimmick will give you an easier sponge ball to silk handling. The eclipse tip is not difficult, per se, but would require a little more practice and then more practice to make it flow like Jay Scott Berry.

It is very small and Jay usually drops it down his sleeve when he is getting something out of one of his inside pockets then he can show his hands empty and steal the gimmick from his sleeve. Get the dvd.

thanks

Does the FS/2 gimmick do this or the eclipse tip?

This thread is getting bogged down !

To perform the Jays sponge ball to silk you need a gimmick and a dvd to explain how to use it for this and other routines.

It is small but can't be loaded down the sleeve.

This particular use of the gimmick is dificult and requires a lot of pracice.
But, being Jays it does look like real magic.
