I am definately confusing today. Bill, sorry, I meant the MR baseball loads, the big ones. I know they are smaller than regular baseballs, I was wondering how they compare in size to some of the 8 inch around balls people are talking about. I use the 7/8 inch ones as my regular balls for the Collectors cups.

Go to Ebay.com and click the site map link. On there you will find information concerning fraud protection, but I believe Ebay will only work with those who have been directly involved in a questionable transaction.
For those buyers who have been treated unfairly, the Ebay feedback forum may be used to warn other traders. This may cause a seller's reputation to be damaged enough to essentially put him out of business, but it would prevent him from necessarily opening a different seller account. Anyone who trades on Ebay should always look at their potential trade partner's feedback rating. Read what others have said. It's a fairly reliable way to check the other guy out. Mistakes can happen to the best, but there are definitely some slugs out there, and it's always nice to be forewarned. I buy and sell a lot on there, and I've seen the best and the worst.

Sometimes correctly reporting a person's actions via feedback can backfire on you. There is one fellow who, if you gave him bad feedback, would give you bad feedback, and then if he could find your phone number, he would call you up and hassle you.
It makes people wary. But I, too, have seen some dishonest people. Most sellers are actually pretty decent people.

Be prepared to spend a lot of time. When Jeff Busby shut me down and then ignored my communication, I decided to go for it!
A lot of e-mails and a couple of phone calls entailed. I talked to attorneys, fellow magicians, and anyone else who would listen! Eventually enough of us complained and pushed it and eBay finally shut him down. Of course, it went to litigation, but eBay came out the "winner." I'm involved in another situation right now where I believe I was ripped off (broken, incomplete, misrepresented merchandise) and eBay won't do anything except send me what appear to be "form" e-mails! I'm the one who got ripped off, so I eventually gave negative feedback. The seller turned around with his response and stated that I tried to scam him! Interesting world! Terry

Thanks Michael! EBay can be a great way to find what you're looking for. Unfortunately, some folks are looking for trouble and find us instead!

I am learning quite a bit about ebay selling a few Items myself. He is probably just clicking the relist link everytime and whatever errors were in the old ad show up in the new ad.
I handle some pretty off the wall stuff so I have to sit and type each ad, every time, except for vintage crooked dice which I buy larger lots of. All of the other things show up with one little thing different or rainbow colors or what ever. For the same reason I have a few boxes of stuff that haven't gotten listed next to the PC. Its work listing and shipping. Shipping and handling is different for every single seller. I charge the cost of the shipping materials and postage and add a buck or two to help with gas and time going to get them. Sme people have a standard shipping fee as high as $15 per sale. Maby they have the items boxed and shipped at Macys, I don't know. Sounds like a bunch of click through lazyness on his part.

That is why I usually wait until they give me feedback, so they cannot retract theirs without litagation.

I don't give feedback till the items are in my hands as described. On folks that pay its as soon as they pay. I started following up on each sale with a brief email contact to make sure they are happy with what they recieved. I have no problem refunding, but no one has ever given the slieghtest inkling they were displeased. Also the folks that pick out things from me already knew they wanted those specific items long before we ever cross paths.
The cups though are a standard retail item and should be described fully and accuratly. Its not like the seller saw them for the first time or didn't know what they were for.

This one fellow I was referring to as giving retaliatory feedback was really a monster! I bought a rechargeable battery from him, and it took forever to arrive. I decided to check his feedback at that point and learned what his game was. The big deal with him was that if you had a problem, phone him. So I phoned him, he gave me a reasonable explanation, and everything was cool. But I won't deal with people who are not reasonable.
One well-known antique magic dealer has a reputation for not doing repeat business with people who give him negative feedback, even if they have perfect feedback. I haven't had any problems with him, though.

Bill: That happened to me and I gave neutral feed back. I Emailed him that I could not get the item to work and there were no instructions. He Emailed me back stating That I was stupid for expecting instructions when the listing did not say so. He also did not tell me how to work the item. Fortunately I have friends and resources. I did feel stupid, when I found out how easy it was.

I left some of Chris's questions unanswered. That was unintentional. Regarding the Mike Rogers final load baseballs -- they were made in more than one size. I have two different sets that Mike made. One set was small enough to fit these cups. The other was a bit larger. This set was made specifically to fit a set of Paul Fox Cups. It was difficult to make them, because he needed a "core" ball that was of a size that was difficult to find. I'm not planning to turn loose of those baseballs anytime soon!
Regarding Mr. Busby -- the final straw in his case had to do with a very famous mentalist whose material Jeff published. The mentalist was trying to sell some of his own items on eBay, and Jeff tried to stop him, claiming that he owned the rights to the mentalist's name. The mentalist was not using his own name as his seller identity. When eBay informed him that Jeff was having these sales blocked, because he owned the rights to his name, he fired back -- "NO HE DOESN'T! I AM R****** *********!" Ebay decided at that point that Mr. Busby was overdoing it, and that settled his hash. All the other cases did help, though, that's for sure! I got this directly from the mentalist in question.
