After studying Royal Road, Card College, and Expert Card Technique, would the Ortiz books be too much of a jump?
If so, could you suggest other books that have gambling demonstrations? Thanks in advance for any advice. |

Not at all, in my opinion. Actually, some of the effects in his books are quite accessible to even less than intermediate cardworkers. If opinions differ, I'm sure we'll hear some from others soon ...
Make America Great Again! - Trump in 2020 ... "We're a capitalistic society. I go into business, I don't make it, I go bankrupt. They're not going to bail me out. I've been on welfare and food stamps. Did anyone help me? No." - Craig T. Nelson, actor.

I have At the Card Table and several effects are well within the grasp of a beginner. However, I must say that most of the effects will require a lot of practice and use knucklebusting moves. Overall, the book is great and full of wonderful magic!
If the moves in Expert Card Technique is within your capabilities then you should have no problem. |

Thanks for the advice.
I think I'll get it soon. By the way, can anybody offer an opinion on the rest of Ortiz's books and videos? |

Darwin Ortiz is a genuine star in the field of magic. Having said that, the majority of his work is going to be far beyond the abilities of many on this board, myself included.
IMHO, I'd work up to him after studying the work of many, many others first. However, I learned Darwin's Jazz Aces from watching a Michael Ammar video, and I use it all the time...so his work is difficult, but not impossible. Without denigrating his work in the least...I'd say there are significant works from others to study that will carry a significant "pow," and may be far easily for you to master. Good luck.
Cheers,
