Just finished watching it. It was well produced, and Roy is working hard on his therapy after a MAJOR stroke and more... he looks like he's ready to fight hard to get back his left side paralysis.
Seigfried said, "If Roy's left arm doesn't work, I'll be his left arm." I thought that was a telling line.

I will admit a couple times during the interview last night I almost cried. Roy is such an inspiration. To have the hights of life to now being in a wheel chair, fighting to get back again. Is nothing but amazing. I will say that he has inspired me. Ive been having back problems for the past couple years now. It really hurts to get out of bed some days. But if Roy can move ahead after a major stroke. I surely can move on. Oh and I was also fighting depression 5 years ago. Thank you Roy!!!

I have to give Roy a ton of credit for not blaming the tiger but saying how the the tiger was actually saving him. his positive attitude is a great insperation.

I went thru these emotions and I can empathyize
whole-hearted with what Siegfried and Roy is currently. anxious nervous depressed angry I am very ANGRY with the way the interview went in the end. Altho I do admit that I did smile when Roy said exactly what my dad says: "Life is an adventure." I think Roy stole that from him. Most likely niether Roy or my father will ever be able to return to magic as they once did. But they have had a full-filling life with a ton of memories. Need to vent in my journal now.

I watched most of the interview. It was interesting and inspirational. The one big thing that seems odd to me though, is Roy’s recollection of the incident. He seemed to think he passed out due to his high blood pressure, and the tiger was just trying to drag him offstage and save him. Siegfried backed up this theory. I remember hearing accounts of Roy being grabbed on the arm by the tiger, and then bopping it on the nose several times with the microphone, before the attack occurred. That contradiction seemed kinda weird to me. Could it be that S&R do not want to be viewed as abusive, and have constructed a more PETA-friendly story, or were the initial accounts of the incident incorrect?

PETA IS THE DEVIL, I am sure they are not giving a rats @$#%%% to what peta thinks. The bottom line is he was attacked by a tiger. Accident or protection it really doesn't matter as he survived and that's amazing on its own. Large cats are like having a 600 lb house cat if it raises its paw at you and swats its going to hurt you do to its size it doesn't matter if the cat was playing or agresive. This part of our business is dangerouse and its a shame that it had to happen to people that truely love the animals the way they do. If they don't want to share the true story of what happend its o.k. as far as I am concerned. But the one thing that remains the same is that Roy still visits the cats, So mayby they are protecting the animals like they have for so many years.
BTW I loved the special its great to see them working so hard together again. tpdmagic |

If he had it in the area I think he did, and most likely it is, that is why he collapse. The majority of his injury and deficits are physical. Severe motor/balance coordination. He needs Bruce to get him back on his feet again...A really great PT.

I didn't like how Maria Shriver spoke to him at the beginning of the inteveriew as if he didn't understand. The interview did not talk about the extent of his paralysis. It really could have been an eye opener for everyone that not everyone who has a stroke can survive or have a normal life as they once did. It would be a great way to spread the awareness of it, but instead it was used as sensationalism to give more marketing power of S&R as well as the new annimation "Father of the Pride".
