As for facial hair being scruffy, I can tell you that I spend more time trimming and shaping my facial hair, (beard and mustache) than most guys spend on shaving.
So if a beard is scruffy, in my opinion, it is only because the owner doesn't spend enough time grooming it. Neat is neat, with or without facial hair. And slovenly(Scruffy) is slovenly, with or without facial hair. BroDavid

Hiya, Magi:
It's off topic and thus ripe for deletion and/or flaming, but I've nowhere else to vent on this one: Why on Earth have some young men decided that billy-goat beards are somehow 'stylish?' (You know the ones, those long tufts of fur perched on the very end of one's chin, surrounded by an otherwise-bare face.) I thought the droopy moustache- , mullet- , and wispy-tail-combo had established the dregs of tonsorial malpractise, but lo! A deeper level of whisker weirdness has been unearthed! Yeah, yeah, I know...just pile the wood, I'll go get the matches. Leland |

If you shadow that early don't sweat it. shave in the morning and live happily ever after. if you have patchy facial hair like a teenager then perhaps consider waxing.

Well beards are really in right now, I don't mean santa claus beards because come on, those will never be in, and they make you look like a ******* lumberjack, if you are going to have a beard, or any facial hair make sure it is shaped... and also what is your character onstage? think about that as well.. but if you have facial hair, make sure it is always neat

Hey guys, Look at the facial hair of some of the greats in Magic. Eugene Berger with his full beard. The Herrmans, Dante and Maskelyne had facial hair. I sport a go tee and stach myself. Also look at Dean Dill with his cool facial hair (would that be considered avant gard?) didn't Blackstone Jr. also sport a little bit of wisker on his chin?

When I grew my goatee my mother said "now you look like a magician". You may not be able to see it on <- this picture because it is now white.

There is an agency in New Jersey that supplies Santa's to Malls all over the country. They are always on the look out.
