Don't touch it.
It was marketed some years ago, and I bought it. What you get for your £18,- is 2 poorly made envelopes and a short explanation. Fair enough, the envelopes can be used more than once, but when they're gone, theyre gone. You won't be able to make up your envelopes, and will have to buy refills for Heaven knows what price. The peek you get is extremely limited, you won't be able to get more than a short word or a number. There also are other restrictions to get them to work, however I can't mention those without exposing the secret. The principle is somewhat interesting, but this item as is, is not practical at all. My advice: Save your money. There are tons of other methods to do this, and better. Sven

I couldn't even get mine to work. I thought it was horrible and just threw them away.

I've found the envelopes to be excellent. You just need to handle the envelope correctly and all is revealed for a matter of seconds and then disappears.
You could also of course make your own using the correct type of paper ! |

I'd love to know if there is a different option re: the nature of the gaff.

I have seen it, and while it a novel concept, see it as being totally unpractical to actually use in front of real living spectators.
Obviously my review will seem biased since I am marketing my ESPnvelope, which is similar in effect only. For those interested it has been well-reviewed in the Penny For Your Thoughts forum, linked below. It also received some very welcome praise from Richard Osterlind, Banachek & others in the Inner Thoughts Forum for those who can access it. http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......5&13 Bryn

The picture of the envelope makes the envelope look very crappy and cheap is it really that bad looking?

The writing in the photo is only an overlay, the actual one is a very innocent looking, a plain white envelope (pay envelope size). The picture is bad and makes it look rough but it isn't at all...

Is this thing really that horrible? A long reset time is not good and little or no handling by the spectator isn't either. Any redeeming qualities at all?

The THINKING behind this idea should be applauded as adding technology to mentalism has produced some great results. However, the "technology" behind this is TOO strong (being vague to avoid tipping) to qualify this as being titled "working performer's."
(Again, my opinion will seem biased as I myself am peddling a mentalism utilty envelope as mentioned above...but do a search on the Sensor. I am not chiming in because this is "competition," as there is none. I will let the above linked reviews of my ESPnvelop speak for themselves. However, where I take issue in the title of the effect as also mentioned above. Sensor is a cute idea but don't advertise it as workable, especially for that price.) Those who have read my other posts know my thoughts on dealer ads and thus my ideas behind my $-back guarantees on my effects....but that is room for another thread all of it's own! Bryn

Reading the posts I've already sussed the method. If I am correct then, this is not practical for table hopping unless you had sevral envelopes in rotation. I believe the "peek" would not always be effective.
Thanks guys. |

It isn't a "crap" thing at all, just not refined enough to easily use yet.
I have spoken to Peter Nardi about it at length and he has customers who use it to great effect so it really is down to the performer. I myself didn't get on with it as I felt too uncomfortable with its' technical issues.

If you need a design- or word duplication like this, I can strongly recommend Richard Busch's Special Delivery.
Look it up! Bryn's ESPnvelope looks pretty interesting. Sven

Tom, regarding the technical issues you spoke to Mr. Nardi about, I think it is an area that could be explored further for someone with the research resources.
Perhaps a box or container of some sort utilizing the same type of principle? Bryn
