Paul Cummings will be in my area on Sunday. Has anyone ever seen his lecture or know what kind of material he performs? Does he have a website? I have other plans that can be changed but I wanted to know what people think about his lecture.
Thanks for your input. Tim |

Paul Cummins (notice that there's no 'g') gives a GREAT lecture. I'd say that about 95% of the material he teaches can be done FASDIU (his term, which means "from a shuffled deck in use" -- it's also the title of his two sets of lecture notes). He also has some good coin material.
My recommendation would be to go see him if you can. His website is http://www.fasdiu.com -Jim

Tim,
Just go and be amazed. His "Up in Smoke" video teaches great sleight of hand. I don't expect him to do any less in person in a lecture. Mike

Paul's lecture contains some of the most practical powerful stuff you'll find. Go see it.

I second everyone else's opinion. Paul Cummins is a worker. He's honed his material out through thousands of performances in bars and restaurants (mostly the bar lately), in the real world. His magic is practice, heavy on cards, but very, very strong card magic.
I really like his card under box routine. Don't miss his lecture... sd |

Paul is probably the smoothest card worker I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. He fried me time after time in his lecture. Go see him. You won't be sorry.

Paul's lecture is great indeed...i don't know if I would go as far as saying that his material would be stuff you could fry other magicians with, but his work is so usable and direct it is almost like a breath of fresh air
not only is the material good, but as someone else said, it can all (for the most part) be done from a shuffled deck |

You have not seen Paul perform until you see him in the bar using a deck of cards that must be years old and warped to hell. Ehat he can do with a deck is amazing.

Got to jump on the bandwagon. I just saw Paul at LVMI. He is incredible!
If you've not seen it before he has a book called Fusillade that he wrote with Doc Eason that I'm thoroughly enjoying right now. It details several methods for the revelations and handling of he and Doc's versions of the multiple card selection. If you can't get to the lecture, have someone pick you up the book. You won't regret it. |

Thanks for all the imput. I have already changed my plans so that I can attend. I will normally change any plans to go to a lecture but I have not heard of Paul Cummings.
Thanks Jim for the correct spelling of his name and website. Tim |

Man, I have to pay more attention. Maybe he can change his name. I will have to talk to him about it on Sunday.

He will be in Baton Rouge on Sunday. I have not heard anything about a workshop. I do not get to attend our local meetings because I have a walk around gig on the nights they meet. I just happened to talk to a member the other day and he told me about it.
What does he do in his workshop? |

He does his acme card workshop. It's 12 routines that require no sleight (other than a pinkey break) check out his site posted above for more information.
