My wife gave birth to our son (it's a boy!!!) at 05:30 on Sun 26th Sept.
He weighs 6lb 12 and is in good shape. She is doing well. The labour was brief and she used minimal pain relief (a TENS machine for those who know - and for those who don't, that doesn't mean it wasn't painful - believe me it was). I'm at home by myself at the moment - hopefully they'll both return from hospital in the morning. I'm a Dad!!! Wow!!!! .... waiting for it to sink in. To all female Café members who have given birth - you are wonderous beings and I will forever be in awe of what you have achieved. I will never look at my wife in the same way again. I must now go to bed and dream of my baby's face. Beetroot |

Thanks all.
Nice one Chris! (where's your avatar gone?) He's in hospital for a couple more days. There are a couple of issues (hopefully they won't be problems). Jaundice is one and the other I probably can't go into. I spent a couple of hours holding him today. He's so peaceful and quiet - an absolute joy. I wonder how long it will continue? I'm really looking forward to having him home so we can go out as a family. Wonderful, wonderful stuff!!! |

Ah yes, but Baby Beetroots soon become Big Beetroots. The other week I was painting an ornamental rail in our house and just happened to mention to my 6 ft. tall 19 year old son "do you remember when you used to hold onto these rails for dear life when you'd had a bath and I was drying you?" The reply was needlessly to say: "Huh"! My other 13 year old specimen is also getting mighty big too!
Enjoy him! Tony. |

Congrats!!! It is a very difficult task (giving birth), tho my way was thru a scalpel and staples twice.
Have fun! He will be in Kindergarten before you know it. Ellen |
