I saw a rather high end effect somewhere and I can't find it.
From what I remember it used a hand held crystal ball that revealed a thought of or named card. I know that is a vague discription of the effect but there was more to the routine that seemed pretty impressive. As I said I do recall this effect was $100.00 or more. Ring a bell with anyone? This is a marketed effect not from a book or DVD. Thanks, Rick |

I think you may be speaking of Martin Lewis' CRYSTAL GAZING.

A simple and very practical card appearing in crystal ball is described in the 1946 book "The Fine Art of Magic" by George Kaplan. Years later Ireland's in Chicago and more recently the late (and great) Mike Rogers sold a close-up version.

I always thought that this was one of Murray's trade-mark effects. The last time I saw it being sold was in a Davenports catalog. The cost was high due to the supplied crystal ball.
The effect is also described in one of Anneman's books. Dr. Zordas |

Friends,
One of the best routines with a crystal ball was performed by the great German magician PUNX, and you`ll find it in one of his books. ESPecially & MAGICally TED LESLEY

A great effect is dollar serial number divination by spectator via crystal ball.

I've been developing a routine just like what it seems you guys are describing. A spectator-as-mind-reader, dual-reality effect, using a crystal ball.
The idea came from I think 13 Steps. Corinda wrote about the CT and how you can use a crystal ball to 'see' the word and also show it to a spectator, and ideas sprang from there. Also that my name is Alexander. Since my namesake in mentalism is 'The Man Who Knows', guess what I call the effect. ![]() I shall have to look in to your recommendations. Thanks guys. Alex.
