I saw the Heavenly Display for the first time yesterday evening, and I can honelsty say, I was more than a little dissapointed. I was hoping that it was going to be some revolutionary...something. I mean, it was still pretty cool looking, but the way it was hyped I think is rediculous in my opinion. If I hadn't seen the promos and read all the material on the HD, I probably would have been more impressed by it.

Same here, but my view changed.. Imagine giving a layman a deck and tell him to do it.. Then you pull of this stunt. BAM! It hits them.. Smile There's more to it than just fanning..

I agree on the fact that I was a little disappointed : I was expecting much more because of the very "underground nature of the move"... but after all, it's called marketing Smile

On the other side, the move in itself is very beautiful and looks quite impossible.

The other day, I tried to introduce it by saying : do you think it would be possible to [HEAVEN DISPLAY DESCRIPTION] ? The girl said something like "no way".

And then BAM ! I do the heaven display : the look on her face spoke by itself Smile

I know what you mean. I've read your posts and thought you had a good understanding of flourishes. Then I saw those horrible fans in your avatar.lol what a let down.

The Heaven Display is awesome and just kills. No one else has ever performed or thought of this concept, and it is revolutionary in my oppinion. I asked McBride about it at a convention and he said he didn't think it was even possible to do.

If the promos said (heaven display description) what you actually do instead of an underground move. You would of thought it impossible just like every other card expert out there.

I didn't see much "hype", just that it's one of his favorite concepts and De'vo wants to keep the move underground and doesn't want it on videos. Same with the CTG routine which I didn't see any comments on.lol

I believe you are questioning the advertising and not the move itself. The move is killer, just like the above posters have admitted.

Bottom line on the Heaven Display: It's a revolutionary idea in XCM, something that has never been done before, and is impossible in the eyes and minds of most every card expert in the world, until De'vo released the method. I think what happens is that people are thining in their own minds of something completely different, like an upsidedown Ulmen Dragon on fire or something.lol It's a fan move people! But an awesome one, and revolutionary one at that!

Heaven Display ROCKS!

First time I saw it I was like,
"NO WAY" I almost cried!
Just remember, when a card expert sees a Charlier, he doesn’t think twice. When lay people se a Charlier they get impressed. When a card expert sees the HD and thinks to himself "wow". Imagine the reaction of a layman.

We card handlers don't think as big of a move as lay people do. So the HD is even greater than we can imagine.

True, Burns. It's just like magic... you (usually) aren't amazed by your own effects, but to the laymen it's simply astounding, provided you do it right. The Heaven display is just something that breaks all the paradigms... not that I do it, just because I don't wanna spoil its' rep by doing it ****tily. Hehe. But still, I would have to say that it lives up to its hype, in the sense that is IS a killer.

I showed some laypersons today and they were pretty impressed actually. I think it's not that the display is dissapointing, it's that my expectations were SUPER high.

The Heaven Display is unique, beautiful, and looks impossible. It is not a cure for cancer, but from a specialist's standpoint, it is just what the doctor ordered. It is the perfect finale for a close-up fan routine. If the Buck Brothers had invented it, I would still love it.

Lol me too!
I just showed the move to a magician I know, and he asked me to show him the gimmick. I said, well wait a min. mmmmmmmmmmm, ohw I remember, there is no gimmick. I was laughing very hard, and the guy could believe it. lol

Glad you agree.
but I see your point Jordini. annything that comes from De'vo vom Schattenreich MUST be hard core, and when people say that de'vo made a hardcore move it must be super-hard core.
The HD dosn't stop your harth (only for a split second anyway) But it sure is a killer-move (bad choise of words.. lol) - but it sure is a VERY VERY VERY COOOL move. IF and only IF you do it correct, smooth and present it well. knowing how to make a fan or two(or 52 which is the correct amount of fans in the HD.... lol) won't help either..

So. to sum it all up.
The HD is a great CARD MOVE
not a great tool for brain surgents or doctors trying to fight cancer. it's just cool, and "style" and "flow" basicly all what a XCM artist (or magician) wants.

So... ejoy it for what it is.

The point is that you shouldn't dish out what you can't take. If you take shots at De'vo, at least make sure you know how to fan properly. LOL, LMAO Or go play your fiddle somewhere else.

Everyone please calm down Smile

NO ONE said that the heaven display was a "bad move". What WAS said is that the marketing used to promote the move was maybe a bit too "excessive".

Concerning the "learn to make good fans before you complain" if think this idea is ridiculous : you don't need to learn how to do something before being able to judge it.
Even if I can't play music, I'm still able to tell if a song is crappy or not (according to my own music tastes of course)... does that make sense ?

But again, NO ONE said the heaven display was a bad move : it's a great move and we can be happy De'vo decided to share it... I wouldn't have Smile

Cardjinx, you shouldn't be talking. HA. HAHAHA. I do believe you were the one who PM'd me saying (lying)that I was banned from Handlordz, banned from their products, and put into the "Playa Hata" forum, but when I checked I wasn't banned at all, I wasn't in that forum, and in fact my name hadn't appeared anywhere on their site. What did you do when I responded? Nothing, because you were caught in a lie. For your information, I'm the concertmaster (That means the head violinist) for not one, but two orchestras, and that's only THIS YEAR. I don't think you should be dishing out anything because I know you're a liar. I don't know why everyone is getting on my case. I never said that the HD was bad, or uncool, or easy, or stoopid. I said it was a tad overhyped. I even mentioned that I think it is a neat move (check out my first post).
