For those who perform this or anything similar to do with "pet" readings, have you found that in today's day and age many people have slightly more exotic pets than the traditional dog and cat mentioned in SYZYGY?

In the 10/15 times I have used this idea I must have had six of those that are unusual, i.e., chinchillas, snakes, rats, spiders and even a chipmunk!

Has anyone familiar with this effect have any ideas or twists that can help with determining the type of animal without having them write it down in the first place? For example a fishing sequence maybe?

Nope. So you're off. You're not psychic but darn close. You get the name! The type of pet is a convincer or added hit/bonus.

This may also depend on which circles you hang out in. In my middle class suburban neighborhood, cat, dog, and maybe gerbil would be all that you would get.
