Did anyone see this?
It was pretty decent, and I laughed a little bit. Jason interacted well with Letterman...which is great for a magician. Some of his effects were not all that great and some were amazing. I enjoyed watching this though.

Yes, I saw it. I found as much fun at Letterman getting fooled as I did with Jason's tricks - mostly basic moves, but excellently done. It just proves how important presentation is.

The re-run is tonight!
Nothing would get done at all, if man waited so long that no one could find fault with it.

I saw the repeat and the only thing I found weak was his double lifts I thought were very obvious. This may be only because I knew he was doing it otherwise good interaction.
The effect is the important thing, how you achieve it is not.......

I thought he gave a demonstration of a pinky break to all of America. Maybe he didn't have a strong sense of where the camera was. He wasn't that funny. Here's this trick and here's that trick, blah, blah, blah.

Agree that the routines was not flawless, still very entertaining to watch.
Seems he was very pressed for time though, he seem to be kinda stressed in his presentation.. -e-
...As long as i`m not a world-champion at anything, the great reactions of doin` magic will do just fine.....

Obviously, Jason was nervous and pressed for time( he had his pinky so far into the deck, and was squeezing the cards so hard that he bent them! ), but here's a question. If you were going to be on Letterman, and knew that you were only going to have 5 minutes, would you want to do 3 or 4 quick effects, or one five minute killer routine?

Check out this thread, it is pretty revealing... Basically the producers forced him to do it machine-gun style... Personally I'd rather bitch out producers to do my best stuff and maybe not do it, rather than bow to them and do worse than average... |
