I'm thinking of buying this trick, is it worth getting and if so is this a good place to buy it? Thanx Tom |

The trick is great.
I am not sure they still have the same supplier. The new supplier`s decks are not as good as the old ones. Dreamlandmagic.com has the best Rising Card Decks, that`s for sure. Generally speaking, Penguinmagic is a great place to buy. Trust me. Have fun. |

Look for a deck that uses the real Devano principle. This deck doesn't. It uses adhesive.

Good advice Bill, this deck is junk. I do my own version. Ya' know, a little bit of IT goes a LONG way!

IMHO, buying rising card decks is a waste of money. Why buy one when you can make your own? Just my thoughts.

There are a lot of good rising card effects that don't use a trick deck. LePaul Had a great one in the card magic of LePaul. There are several good methods in Tarbell... And greater Magic.
As a trick deck I used the Devano As Bill Palmer suggests. It is a very good deck and stood up to a lot of shows. By the way I would do the impromtu rising cards when table hopping and use the Devano deck when doing formal shows. And ofthen it was strong enough to close with.

For a rising card effect on a borrowed deck of cards, I would strongly recommend jeff McBride's kundalini rising....
if you are looking at using your own deck, henry evan's king rising is a very good and clean deck with the gimmick virtually invisible to the audience.... when I uses automatic rising card trick, I always let the spectator handle the deck to prove that there is nothing suspicious about the deck before I do the rising card trick... both are good and never fails to draw the "ooohh.... wow..." effect.... hope that helps eric

It's a good trick... And Penguin Magic is one of the cheapest places I've found it...

Just my humble opinion..don't listen to it..but maybe you would have listened to Don Alan or Al Goshman????.. They didn't use sticky stuff, they went for the best..and that is what I described. NOT because THEY said so, but because of my own experience..

Take a look at this one:
http://home.houston.rr.com/mylist/trick1.html Expensive? Yup. Worth it? I certainly think so. (Yes, I like real Devano decks too.)

Draw your own conclusions..... sam PS Does anyone make a true Devano anymore? |

Check the net for RICHBARK. As I recall he makes a decent "Devano-type" deck for around $35-$40.

My favorite is the one Barry provided a link to. Believe it or not, after the trick is done, you can hand the cards and card case out for inspection. That's what makes this version so strong.

I'm in process of making my own, with the help of various sellers of their version of that deck, kindly supplying spare parts/cut outs..and needle plates.. All I've to do is to get made the weight as I like it and assemble the thing.. I actually might get satisfied by the result...

Jay Sankey has a rising card effect which he explains in Revolutionary Card Magic. It can be used with a borrowed deck, it uses no IT OR Sticky Stuff, and it's SOOOO SMALL! I think it's a wonderful concept.

I got my rising card deck from Penguin and I must say, it's pure JUNK! The adhesive they use has to be the worst! Just a word of caution.
